With most of the conservative presidential field in Iowa today, Eureka residents were surprised to find Sarah Palin touring the Eureka College

The bus rolled up around 4:30 Saturday afternoon. It was an unannounced stop on the "One Nation" bus tour of America.

Getting off to tour the college campus that Ronald Reagan called home was Sarah Palin, her husband Todd, and her daughter Piper.

With none of the security usually surrounding a major political figure, Palin greeted everyone she saw.

Then it was time for a tour of the Ronald Reagan Museum in the college's Donald B. Cerf center.

The Palins looked at a roomful of Reagan memorabilia ,led by the college's Dr. Brian Sajko. Palin listened to stories of Reagan's college experience, and was visibly moved by a video of president Reagan hearing his college alma mater.

After touring the Reagan Peace Garden, the former governor, accompanied by local congressman Aaron Schock, explained her visit.

“With none of the security usually surrounding a major political figure”

By not informing the media she keeps them from organizing liberal assassination teams to ambush her. So she can move freely among the people and get true reactions from them. Very smart.

I think Perry is the only candidate that is man enough to run as her VP.

Possibly, but I think I'd be more comfortable if she chose someone who's a real ally. I don't perceive that in Rick Perry, and there are some disturbing reports I've seen that tend to support that.

I know that when she made a televised appearance here in Texas to endorse him for Governor, the body language was all wrong. I watched it myself, and was unsettled at some of what I saw.

I'm a 'people person' and am very good at reading vibes and visual indicators. I've been getting all the wrong signals from Perry, since I first began watching him.

I hear ya, but I guess the ONLY thing that might make me think she might consider Perry is that from what I read in “Going Rogue” that she was in Texas for a Rick Perry event when she went into labor with Trig, maybe that gives them some kind of bond, I have read the disturbing things about him too, but I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

I saw an interview during the 2008 where he said that they were good friends from the conference of governors and that she brought him a tee shirt that said “size matters”.

She also endorsed him for Governor, so anything is possible. If she does run and gets the nomination she could very well pick him, but at this point its WAY too early to think about that

I think you're right. I've seen what I've seen, but who's to say that I've seen enough? Sarah surely knows Rick Perry better than I do. She's got extraordinary people instincts, and knows what's best for her in a running mate.

If she chooses him, and he accepts, then I'll trust in her judgment.

I really really hope that she runs. She is the only one right now that I would vote for. I am glad that there are so many people to choose from right now but at this point Sarah Palin’s got my vote..whatever she decides to do at the end I will respect her decision but I just hope that she chooses to run..if she runs she has this thing in the bag

I think she was waiting to see if he got in, and now that he has, she is out.

Although we aren't in a position to state it as a fact, there's no longer any question that she's running. For anyone who's keeping a finger on the pulse of what she's been doing and saying over the last year, the evidence is overwhelming.

My only question now, is when she'll announce her run for the nomination. The best bet is that it will come in her September 3rd keynote address at the Waukee Tea Party event.

She has promised (on record) that she'll announce her intentions in late August - early September. The Waukee event is the biggest thing on her calendar in that time period, and media will surely be there to capture her speech, so it's an ideal time to do it.

She is the only one right now that I would vote for.

I don't think it's any secret that I'm a 'broken glass' Palin supporter. She's got my vote, whatever bucks I can scrape together, and my help in her campaign, whenever she gives the word.

Rick Perry isn't stopping Sarah Palin from entering the race. She's had her plans set to seek the nomination for a long time now, and it doesn't matter who gets in and who doesn't.

Too much is hanging on her potential bid for the White House, and she knows that. Millions are impatiently waiting for her to announce her entry into the race. She would have told the nation that she wasn't seeking the presidency a long time ago, if that was her decision. She never made that announcement.

She would not rip the hearts out of millions of her fellow Americans at the last minute like that. She's made of better stuff. She's running.

If that were the case, she wouldn’t be waiting another month to announce that, she would have come out and said she is absolutely not running

I agree, look at Reagan, he waited til late November to announce he is running..did anyone accuse him then of “Teasing” people..of course not..Sarah will decide if she is running or not on HER terms, its her decision to make, hers and her family’s decision and she will make the choice that is best for her and her family. I think she has been traveling the country to get a better idea if she has a chance of winning. She sees the BS polls floating around that gives her no chance, she wants to see for herself if those polls are true or not..and I hope that she has seen what I have known all along, she is a powerhouse, she gets in this race she wins, that simple

And she won’t wait another month, but it would not serve her well to announce that on the same day.

Sarah has been admired and adored by millions of Americans since she first set foot on the national stage. That woman has had more love thrown at her than any hundred politicians put together. I think she knows full well where she stands in the hearts and minds of the people, and that the nomination is hers for the asking.

Even so, she has to do this just right, since she doesn't have the backing of the media, or the Republican establishment. She knows they're going to do everything they can to poke holes in her sails, so she's got to go directly to the people. Staying out of the race this long has worked to her advantage. She's been coy about whether or not she's running, which is smart, because she keeps herself from being unnecessarily targeted by the media, her opponents, or the ruling class establishment.

She also takes on no damage from all of the wear and tear of the early campaigning, like others are doing. She's also saving hers, and her supporters resources by not stepping in until late summer, when the rest of the field will already be showing scars, damage, staff attrition, roller coastering poll numbers, sensational press reports, gaffes on the trail, money woes, and the like.

Palin said that she'd run an unconventional campaign, and what a lot of folks fail to see, is that she's doing it right now.

She’s smart, she is seeing what is out there, whose staying in and whose dropping out..when she feels its the right moment that is when she is gonna get into this race. She sees the kind of energy that she brings when she enters a room, how excited people get when they talk to her..she is the real deal..the skys the limit if she runs..she has it in the bag and the left knows it, that is why they are so terrified of her

It's been as plain as day, since the end of the 2008 election. She will be the 45th President if she desires it, and I believe she does.

I don’t think there’ll be an answer from Sarah on or by September 3rd. When she told David Brody that she’d give her supporters an answer “in short order,” he followed up by asking if that “short order” would be “end of September? October?” She said that that was “a fair timeline for people.”

While I believe the political primaries are traditionally far too long and I like and respect Sarah’s unconventional methods, I’m tired of waiting for her decision. My money and my time are valuable. I’m ready to get to work defeating Obama. I’ve had enough bus tours of national landmarks and state fairs. Time’s a-wastin’!

Where RWR successfully double-majored in economics and sociology.

Not like that 2-time dropout the left ran against Bush 2 for the Presidency.

What exactly is she going to do after she declares? Travel around the country to meet people and shake hands at places like national landmarks and state fairs, right?

It’s the area of Illinois

It's not red or blue? Maybe you are not red or blue, but if this election Illinois goes red as a state, I'll know for sure that the one is now unemployed, and America is in full recovery mode.
