Ron Paul or certified RINOs, whom would you prefer? (vanity)

Posted on 08/13/2011 1:26:27 PM PDT by JimWayne

After yesterday's spurt in talk radio about Ron Paul, I've been thinking about his positions. I oppose Ron Paul on Foreign Policy (especially his position ignoring the threat of Islam taking over our policy), but have to seriously wonder about supporting some of the other candidates who have not faced opposition.

Ron Paul gets a lot of flak, but why do the others get away with cheating us for doing far worse than what Ron Paul promises to do to Israel? Many candidates like Rick Santorum, George Allen and Joe Barton have hijacked the label of conservative, but are less conservative than even Ron Paul. They support raising debt to infinite levels, deficit funding, support for Islamic regimes like Pakistan, nationalized healthcare (they did not oppose Romneycare), have wishy-washy positions on abortion, and say one thing during the elections while ganging up with the liberals right after the elections.

The second thought in my mind is about Israel. Why are we so obsessed about Israel when the Jewish people seem to vote for the RATs? I think Islam is more dangerous and if we pull the aid from both Palestine and Israel, Israel will win, but this is a situation I don't really feel strongly about. There are much bigger problems at home and my wealth is depleting not merely due to Obama and other Dims, but the RINOs and neocons who have ganged up with the liberals over the years.

These RINOs do not support us but expect our support unconditionally. They even opposed the TEA Party candidates but suddenly claim that they themselves are part of the TEA Party.

So my question to you is why should we give a free pass to the RINOs? Shouldn't we hold them to the same standards we hold Ron Paul to? I can already hear that Ron Paul is a kook, but that is not the question. The question is whether others like Santorum and George Allen aren't worse than being a kook and why should we support them? The other question is why Israel is so important that my savings should be used for them. Shouldn't they take care of themselves?

Our support for Israel is not an obsession, but instead a matter of friendship and solidarity regardless of the domestic idiots you referenced.

I agree it is not an obsession. Until now, I have never paid attention to the aid to Israel. Even now, I do not have a position on it. I just happened to come across the voting pattern of Jewish people and want to know why we should support them if they oppose America. They always vote only for the Democrats. Shouldn't we expect support for America in return? Isn't this a fair question?

Kook Paul said in the ‘08 election debate he would “stickily follow the constitution” but then cited the International Court of Justice at The Hague that the war in Iraq is illegal.

If he’s not a kook he’s schizophrenic.

The question is analogous to deciding whether to dive off a building or step in front of a train because you have cancer. No thanks to any of the three, I want a cure.

Owl Eagle says our aid to Israel is a subsidy to our arms industry, which has some validity. However, I suggest we cut out the middleman and get American Jews to foot the bill. Then they would have less $ to give to commies here in America.

But Herman Cain has actually accomplished something, does not blame America for every problem in the world and does not believe surrender is the only answer to the terrorist threat.

Correct. I support his policies. I was merely demonstrating that the argument about ignoring someone for not having a chance of winning is a flawed one because that would result in Herman Cain being ignored. Your argument is a much sounder one.

Is that the same as SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP? Sure sounds like it.

Absolutely not. It's a reality check.

Nobody is worse than the surrender monkey.

Supporters of baby-killing are worse. Supporters of terrorist regimes are worse.

Santorum hates homeschooling or anything that allows people more choice.

Withdraw your claim because it's a total and complete lie. Santorum and his wife ARE homsechoolers.

And what do you call a guy who enthusiastically voted to homosexualize the military? That would be Ron Paul. The man is a complete nincompoop on social issues.

Show me one post where I supported Ron Paul. I have never done that. BTW, Rick Santorum also probably supports homosexualizing the military. He is probably just putting on a show for us. After all, he supports Arlen Specter, calls Mitt Romney a conservative, has triangulated his position on baby-killing, has voted to raise debt ceilings, has voted for Amtrak pork in order to help unions, has voted for money to be given to community block development programs, etc.

Ron Paul is an anti-Semite loser supported by dope smoking college kids and the tin foil hat brigade. What sensible person would support him?

You are missing the point. This thread is not about Ron Paul but about others who do worse things and seem to get away with it.

No, we are not missing "the point." Perhaps we do not accept your premise, i.e., that those "others" (for you, that seems to mean Santorum) are worse than Ron Paul.

You do understand that there is a difference between American Jews and Israelis, right?

Supporters of baby-killing are worse. Supporters of terrorist regimes are worse.
Cut and run demanded that an under aged girl be permitted to cross state lines in order to receive an abortion that was illegal in the state she lived. Sounds like he is a supporter of baby killing to me
The surrender monkey blames America for 9/11, what more support could he give terrorists?

Herman Cain still has a possible future in politics, he is new, this race could have meaning for him.

I like him a lot, but in 2016 he'll be 70.

No, you are dead wrong.

Google Search: Santorum don't ask don't tell

The least you can do is check your facts before trashing somebody.
