Ron Paul or certified RINOs, whom would you prefer? (vanity)

Posted on 08/13/2011 1:26:27 PM PDT by JimWayne

After yesterday's spurt in talk radio about Ron Paul, I've been thinking about his positions. I oppose Ron Paul on Foreign Policy (especially his position ignoring the threat of Islam taking over our policy), but have to seriously wonder about supporting some of the other candidates who have not faced opposition.

Ron Paul gets a lot of flak, but why do the others get away with cheating us for doing far worse than what Ron Paul promises to do to Israel? Many candidates like Rick Santorum, George Allen and Joe Barton have hijacked the label of conservative, but are less conservative than even Ron Paul. They support raising debt to infinite levels, deficit funding, support for Islamic regimes like Pakistan, nationalized healthcare (they did not oppose Romneycare), have wishy-washy positions on abortion, and say one thing during the elections while ganging up with the liberals right after the elections.

The second thought in my mind is about Israel. Why are we so obsessed about Israel when the Jewish people seem to vote for the RATs? I think Islam is more dangerous and if we pull the aid from both Palestine and Israel, Israel will win, but this is a situation I don't really feel strongly about. There are much bigger problems at home and my wealth is depleting not merely due to Obama and other Dims, but the RINOs and neocons who have ganged up with the liberals over the years.

These RINOs do not support us but expect our support unconditionally. They even opposed the TEA Party candidates but suddenly claim that they themselves are part of the TEA Party.

So my question to you is why should we give a free pass to the RINOs? Shouldn't we hold them to the same standards we hold Ron Paul to? I can already hear that Ron Paul is a kook, but that is not the question. The question is whether others like Santorum and George Allen aren't worse than being a kook and why should we support them? The other question is why Israel is so important that my savings should be used for them. Shouldn't they take care of themselves?

Frankly, a vote for Paul is a vote for Obama.

I disagree. A vote for the surrender monkey is a vote NOT going to Obama. No Republican would ever vote for an anti-American like cut and run.

You'll get no argument here. I think they both suck.

Nice comparison, though. :-)

I think we want to abolish Commerce. Maybe he could take Labor and meld Commerce back into it while disposing of UNNECESSARY and politically lame offices.

I do not know enough about Perry to have an opinion about him yet, but I do know enough about cut and run to know he is the worst possible candidate, from either side.

Surely you can do your own research on Perry but this is what I have discovered in doing mine.

Rick Perry was Al Gore’s Texas campaign manager
Rick Perry endorsed pro-abortion candidate Rudy Giuliani for president in 2007
Rick Perry advocated for Texas’ version of the Dream Act and defends his position still
Rick Perry opposed the border fence
Rick Perry opposed SB 1070, Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law
Rick Perry vocally opposed Obama’s stimulus plan but took billions in stimulus money to balance the Texas budget
Rick Perry said he was Fine with NY’s gay marriage law
Rick Perry was hand-picked by Karl Rove and is an establishment Republican
Rick Perry is no conservative

How about just admitting that you were 100% dead wrong about Santorum's position on DADT. Until you do that, you have zero credibility.

You clearly do not understand English. I used the word 'probably.' Do you want me to teach you the meaning of the word?

You are the one who has zero credibility because you froth at the mouth when anyone criticizes the guy who triangulated his position on baby-killing (he did this in 1990), supported ethanol subsidies, took pork for Amtrak so that unions would benefit, supported far-left liberals like Arlen Specter and Mitt Romney, supported community block programs and so on.

I agree. In reality, we only need the following:

Treasury

State

Defense

Productivity ("ComAgriLabor")

Justice

Science & Technology (combines Energy, HHS, includes NASA, NIH, etc.)

Internal Affairs (combines Interior, HUD, VA, Transportation.)

Education and Homeland Security are disbanded.

I am not near as concerned with social issues as I am with national security, and fiscal policies.
He may have worked for Al Gore and I know at one time he was a dimwitocrat, but at one time so was Ronald Reagan.
Herman Cain is my choice now, but he is a long shot. The only person with an R behind their name that I could not support, and I could not support in any way is cut and run Paul. He would do more damage to our national security than even the king could ever do.

South40, thanks for the information. Clearly, you have proved that anyone who even thinks of considering supporting Perry is either a supporter of homosexuality or is a homosexual himself.

Yep. And notice none of the Paulbots are even attempting to defend their boy on that point.

Do you think Ron Paul is a racist?..

Weak.

Why can't you just say it? "I was dead wrong about Santorum's position on DADT. I take it back." See? It's not that hard.

“Why are we so obsessed about Israel when the Jewish people seem to vote for the RATs?”

Support for Israel is beyond political. Christians have good biblical reasons, past present and future, for supporting modern Israel.

Paul instructs us as to the immense debt we Gentiles owe Israel for our spiritual inheritance, and reminds us of our duty to help Israel in earthly matters. (Romans 15: 27)

There’s a lot online referencing this if this isn’t something that’s being taught in your church. It is difficult to overlook their ridiculous liberal bent in America, but Christians believe they’ll be blessed if they support Israel.

I was right and have provided evidence for all my claims. You were wrong and support progressives and liberals and get outraged when questioned. Admit it, you upport Santorum the fool because he supported Arlen Specter and Mitt Romney and voted for Amtrak pork. If this is the case, you are better off going to Daily Kos or Democratic Underground. This place is for conservatives, not liberals.
