Just last night a yet unannounced candidate was talking about eliminating the Department of Education and realigning the role of government with the Constitution.

Turn away from the TV for a moment and just listen to him talk and he sounds just like another Texan. Will that hurt?

Both are great ladies. Neither can win an election. Book it.

Don't get me wrong, I am far from being sold on Perry but do think that Perry would trounce Obama. I know one thing for sure, getting rid of obama is paramount in this election.
Cannot agree more. I really liked what I just heard from Perry...it seemed heartfelt, inspiring, American and REAL. Of course, I also loved the tear that Palin went on during Hannity's show last night.
At the end of the day, I want Obama out of the White House. Any Republican would be an improvement, but we should fight like hell for the best degree of improvement. Palin, Perry, Cain, Bachmann...all are light years ahead of Obama. I personally don't believe we have four years to spare to save this nation.

It’s getting a little crowded. In the end, the thing that matters is that any Republican is better than Obama.

Perry is gonna drive the liberals completely nuts...

"The change we seek will never emanate out of Washington. It will come from the windswept prairies of middle America; the farms and factories across this great land; the hearts and minds of God-fearing Americans -- who will not accept a future that is less than our past, who will not be consigned a fate of LESS freedom in exchange for MORE government. We do not have to accept our current circumstances. We will change them. We're Americans. That's what we do. WE roll up our sleeves, WE get to work, WE make things better."

Jon Huntsman looked like a deer in headlights at the debate. How did the conservatives in Utah vote this loser in as Governor? Yeah I know they voted in Hatch however they threw out a RINO and put a conservative in the Senate in 2010.
Jon Huntsman worked for Obama in CHINA!!! This guy is probably worse than Pawlenty.

What scares me most is not Perry running. It is Perry picking Romney as his VP.

Turn away and listen to him and he sounds just like W—and yes, that will hurt.

“Right now, my candidate is Jim DeMint, and with a virtual tie for second between Perry, and and Palin. Problem is the attack dogs from the Palin crowd have gotten so vicious that I think I may be trending toward Perry.”
The attacks dogs exhibit a level of nastiness I’ve never seen in Palin herself.

Every one of the candidates has done something that some on FR may not agree with. That does not mean that they’re all RINOs. It’s time to look at the records of the respective candidates. They’ve all done some things I’d rather that they didn’t. I will tell you one thing, though, they’re all a huge improvement over the doodie in there now.
To: EQAndyBuzz
Nah.... he’ll pick Rubio.

Turn away from the TV for a moment and just listen to him talk and he sounds just like another Texan. Will that hurt?Yes, it will hurt some. Just because it may remind people of Bush who is so disliked by most of the public that he wouldn't even help candidates in deep red districts.
Still, Perry is a much better communicator than Bush. Much better. After 4 years of the intellectual egg head Harvard types led by Hussein failing utterly in Washington, I rather suspect the public will be open to a common sense, clearly outside the beltway conservative (even if his may sound a little too much like Bush).
