"Unfortunately what we've seen in Washington in the last few months has been the worst kind of partisanship, the worst kind of gridlock, and that gridlock has undermined public confidence and impeded our efforts to take the steps we need for our economy," Obama said after touring a Michigan factory that makes advanced batteries for alternative-fuel vehicles. A Washington Post poll released this week showed widespread and deep discontent with Washington. Nearly 80 percent said they were dissatisfied with the way the country's political system works, compared with 60 percent in November 2009. Seventy-one percent said the federal government is mostly focused on the wrong things, up from 55 percent in October 2010.

“...We have too many laws because we have 535 full-time federal lawmakers and countless state and local lawmakers who do nothing but continue to pass new laws, day in and day out! An average of 600 new federal, state and local laws are passed each month in this country!...”
This should be Michelle Bachmann’s answer when asked about her lack of legislative success in getting bills passed.
Somebody needs to run a "I'm going to Washington to repeal laws, not pass new ones!" campaign. Actually, a lot of people need to run on this message, and then follow through with doing it.
That’s what happens when you elect a cartoon character for a President.
Spot on.
He wanted to continue on to say, “...of more people would develop a softer attitude towards the ideas of Karl Marx, this would be easier for me....”
“80 percent said they were dissatisfied with the way the country’s political system works”
This is the beginning of revolution talk. It’s not the “system”, it’s the MORAL CHARACTER of the elected. We have one side that is hell-bent on pro-gay and anti-energy policies that is more radical than those it points a finger at.
This is his agenda imo. He needs a political crisis to implement his “fundamental remake of America”. I always wondered exactly what he meant be that, now I’m beginning to see.
...he truly believes the constitution is flawed in being too restrictive. At the same time we have media asking if the constitution “still matters?”. This isn’t coincidence.
Mr. President - the constitution exists to stop those that wish for no constitution. He’s going going to try to change the system, into one that’s more “fair”.
I wonder what his next steps will be?
“Obama: Something is wrong with country’s politics”
look in the mirror....
Thank the heavens for gridlock!
Apparently, Zero knows less about American history than we realize considering the fights on the Senate floor and the verbal altercations going back through our history.
The problem with the left is that if they are challenged, it is because you are a nasty, vile person and “in denial.”
Every single dimwit liberal I’ve encountered in NOVA and DC believes that anyone who disagrees with them is “in denial.”
Love it.
Fight on and full speed ahead.
"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with." Ayn Rand
I heard an interesting comment from Juan Williams awhile back. He was lamenting that the Tea Party reps in DC are obstructionists...and he said, back in the old days, politicians would make their promises and get elected. Then they would go to DC and an “elder statesman” would take them under their wing and “show them how the sausage gets made” and in return the older politician would “help them get re-elected.”
At what point to we say, “This sausage you are making is killing us!”
I’m beginning to believe he’s going to make a grab at dictator.
I often see those on the left lamenting the “anti-intellectuals.”
I know intellectuals. A mind is a terrible thing to make up. They can talk themselves into a position, out of that position and then back into it again.
They believe that waffling is “intellectual”.
They love the “little people” unless the little people are conservatives. Then the little people are deluded rubes who are brainwashed by teh Fox News.
By proclaiming THEIR ideas as the only ones that are legit, they reveal to us that if you scratch a liberal ... you’ll find a tyrant.
Oboma should leave and let someone with Brains run the country,You see the problem here is from Neck up!
Yes and most of it comes from your side of the isle.I never thought I would see the other side outright lie so much. You all have really become the scum of the earth.
Obama has the same goals.
With the changes in the Democrat party, after the upheaval of the 60s, there should have been continual challenges from the GOP, if they were going to be true to Republican ideas of lower taxes and holding the line on spending. The Country Clubbers, who were good friends with their Democrat counterparts, didn't want to be blackballed from 'society', so they didn't fight against the increased spending on 'social issues' pushed by the liberal Dems, because many of them agreed with the Dems. They also were embarrassed by what they considered quaint notions of 'morality' that were beginning to be touted by the conservatives in the GOP.
He will fail. There are members of the Secret Service who have clandestinely sworn not to let this happen.
Yeah, somethings wrong, alright; the Marxist/Muslim usurper pos in the White House.
“scratch a liberal ... youll find a tyrant.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Yes, and scratch a tyrant and you’ll find a fool, willing to give up everything that really makes life worth living in the pursuit of power over others. Not the power to do something positive, merely the power to make others do any stupid thing they can think of.
