Group Pushes To ‘Let Bert And Ernie Get Married’ On Sesame Street (InfinityBarfAlert!!)

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Will the Children’s Television Workshop give way to same-sex puppet love?
An online campaign is calling for the producers of TV’s “Sesame Street” to allow characters Bert and Ernie to get married in an attempt to “put an end to the bullying and suicides of LGBT youth”, according to the group’s Facebook page.
The petition letter adds that “[w]e are not asking that Sesame Street do anything crude or disrespectful by allowing Bert & Ernie to marry”, suggesting that the show “even add a transgender character to the show…in a tasteful way”.

This is crazy talk. Why would they want these two to get married?! It is just plain sick. It is quite obvious that Ernie is constantly subjected to mental cruelty by Bert.
Ernie is in an abusive relationship and they should get Ernie into a shelter. He could hang out there with Oscar, the homeless character.
Then Bert could go to an institution to get help controlling his anger. Maybe a group setting that deals with multiple problems like compulsive eating (Cookie Monster) and obsessive compulsive disorder (the Count.)

I always disliked Sesame Street, as long as I could remember. Even for a 5 year old, it was mindless, unfunny, not entertaining, and I could smell the political correctness even then.
