A President In Over His Head Should Resign
IBD Editorials ^ | August 10, 2011 | DOUG MACKINNON

Posted on 08/10/2011 4:57:46 PM PDT by Kaslin

As our economy continues to self-destruct; U.S. credit is shockingly downgraded; home prices remain at historic lows; unemployment rises; small businesses continue to close their doors; public-employee-bloated cities, towns, states and employers continue to default; race riots flare, Mexican drug cartels cross our sovereign border at will to establish ultraviolent operations; test scores for public school children continue to plummet; the health care system falls under the control of a failed socialist model; terrorism rises, and the world outside our borders spirals into deeper and more dangerous chaos, a serious and very legitimate question needs to be asked:

In the best interests of our nation and the American people, should President Obama resign his office?

Supporters of the president will be offended by the very question and more than likely fire the usual "racist" accusations my way. But it's a question that at least needs to be debated.

Even if Obama loses the election in November 2012, he will still remain in office until Jan. 20, 2013. If, as many people now believe, Obama is in way over his head and dramatically ill-equipped to handle the critical responsibilities of his office, then it seems logical to assume he can still do quite a bit more damage to our nation from now until then.

As to why he is so far over his head and so unqualified to be president, one of his strongest supporters just outlined the answer in a lengthy article for the liberal (and Obama-defending) New York Times.

In the piece, Drew Westen, a committed liberal, articulated his hopes and disappointments of Obama. By doing so, he (in a Nixon-going-to-China moment) pinpointed exactly why the Obama administration has been such an unmitigated disaster.

Obama will never resign.... it will take an EXORCISM to get him out of the White House.

Obama cares about his America..... he doesn’t give one wit about our America.

...does ANYONE think that “Plugs” Biden is up to the job?

A local animal control person would be more "up to the job" than Zero. Plugs would do much, much better. Plus, we would actually get some laughs from the constant gaffes. "The population laughed as Rome burned."

If you are working for yourself, you are investing your money trying to accumulate wealth.

If you work for someone else, the only reason you have a job is because someone with wealth is risking their money to generate more wealth, providing you with that “normal living”.

FRiend, people that invest in the market come from all walks of life and every single one of them are trying to gain wealth from their risk.

I have two pensions and my wife continues to work, yet we are invested in stocks. My wife has put a large chunk of her wage into stocks for nearly 30 years. Within the last 3 weeks we have lost 10’s of thousands of dollars that we saved, sacrificed for, put at some risk, and had worked hard to earn.

I don’t know if we will ever get that back and that loss will not be spent by me, and as a result, some poor guy may not keep or have a job.

I am wealthy compared to some and poor compared to others.

Please have a good evening....

Very similar to my own situation.

I am wealthy compared to some and poor compared to others.

Yep and nobody gave you or me what we have earned, either through that 9 to 5 thing or the stock market or any other way we honestly obtained it. I envy no one who has accumulated wealth honestly, no matter how much of it they have

Well, he IS leaning to the right. That's about the last time you'll see that. Take a picture. Whoops! Too late...

Here's the current line of succession. Except for Boehner (sort of) the whole list would be one disaster after another. These people are actually running our country? It's scary to see them all on one page. What a collection of clowns and misfits:

The Vice President Joseph Biden
Speaker of the House John Boehner
President pro tempore of the Senate Daniel Inouye
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner
Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta
Attorney General Eric Holder
Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar
Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack
Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke
Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis
Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan
Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood
Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu
Secretary of Education Arne Duncan
Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki
Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano

Feel safer now?

Maybe Doug needs to ponder who’s most unqualified, Obama or Biden. That’s one hell of a choice, isn’t it?

You mean biden, who outted SEAL Team 6 and led to them being ambushed ???

They must be smoking some potent stuff at IBD if they really think that Obama would

Maybe. But this becomes a devastatingly effective tactic that Obama is going to be helpless to counter. I heard Neil Bortz call for Obama to forgo another run today.

A few months ago pleas like these would have been dismissed as the ranting of kooks. This will snowball. Once the idea that Obama is hopeless becomes mainstream, there is no going back.

Really, could Biden be any worse than Obama? I would say that at least Biden doesn't hate this country, at least I don't think he does. At this point, I'd be willing to take my chances with Biden because I think the GOP would be able to work with him a bit.

But it is a moot point because Obama doesn't think he is failing, I'm sure - he probably thinks he is succeeding wildly beyond his dreams. He is a hate-filled man on a mission, one that is going swimmingly well up to this point.

We must sink much deeper. I want to sink so deep that America liberates itself from the extortion racket called "welfare".

Obama's problem is that he's the first Communist that didn't have a capitalist nation to prop him up.

This may sound like I'm reaching (or on a bong), but what makes all of you think that after his loss of the 2012 election, he will voluntarily step down on 1/20/13?

Without an overwhelming GOP majority in both Houses of Congress, he could decide to just postpone the swearing in ceremony and he will still be POTUS and there won't be anyone to do much about it. He'll have the urban street, the SEIU, the Prison Guards etc. Will the Joint Chiefs ignore the CIC?

Investment involves risk-taking. Success in investment results in capital gains taxes and eventual estate taxes.

A “real job” as you’ve put it, isn’t always so admirable.

If you’re an overweight, under-educated, overpaid, over-insured, over-represented fork lift driver in a Chrysler plant somewhere in SE Michigan, you might be a lily-livered, pot-smoking, beer-chugging, bum who just happens to have a job.

“Boohoo, the truth hurts.”

Put some ice on it. Wherever it is....probably down low and in deep. That way you can finish digging your current hole without having to pause for refreshments. Now, GET BACK TO WORK!
