One of my closest friends, "Gail," lives in a pristine suburb in northern New Jersey. It's one of those leafy bedroom communities where residents drive their Lexus SUVs to the railroad station each morning to catch the train to Manhattan.
After 9/11, Gail told me that eerily, several vehicles were left abandoned in the parking lot for weeks. Their drivers never returned home that day to retrieve them.
But, in general, not much goes on in her sleepy, idyllic town. The residents rave about shopping sprees to Loehmanns and sprints to Whole Foods for organic strawberries. There is no crime to speak of; the local paper blares news about a recent traffic accident or the opening of a Trader Joe's. So when Gail told me what happened to her son, I was absolutely dumbfounded.
As for Gail, like my former self, she's a staunch supporter of the Democratic Party.....

I doubt many would blame the black race for the deliberate destruction this "Liberation" communist caused. There are several prominent black conservatives that most of us here I'm sure would vote for in a heartbeat.

I agree that she is not going to learn anything from this incident. Worldviews are not easily discarded and it takes many such experiences to change the mindset of a brain-dead liberal.

That's how I have been feeling lately. I'm not sure exactly what triggered it, but for some reason I am no longer feeling positive about our ability to stabilize and instead I have a sense that we are just holding our breaths until something happens that is going to make it all topple.

Some of us here know what sort of evil animates the current occupants of the White House. It's a generations-long project that is near its fruition. People need to wake up and smell the killing fields that inhabit the dreams of the filth in the White House. There will be only one way to stop them.
Or by the October 2012 surprise movie that makes Obama the hero that got Bin Laden. Count on it.
All I can offer at this point is to mentally prepare yourself. It has the potential to get really wild.

The progressivist mindset is precisely one of their moral superiority and thus the justification for force. After all, they're right and anyone who is blind enough to oppose them is not. But until now they haven't had an individual around whom these things can coalesce, and I think that was probably what they needed (that and decades of patient destruction of genuine moral authority outside of their control).
So we are seeing Alinsky's hero Lucifer (which is literally what "light-bringer" means) appearing once again to set himself up as the ultimate self-realized arbiter of good and evil, with "good" being one thing only, himself.

And properly understood: your words are quite terrifying, or rather ought to be, for the meeting of diametrically opposed forces has the same result in society as in nature. In our present condition, Western civilization (or that which remains of it) now faces an increasingly belligerent force of Utopian collectivism, led by a cadre of elitists who avail themselves of an eager army of useful idiots: the mis-educated, the discontented, and the faithless. Those who cannot see the storm clouds gathering need to open their eyes, face the right way, and prepare.
Great writing as usual, Nathan. “Normal” Americans with a sense of American fair play and democratic idealism want to believe that despite Obama’s political stance and marxist social justice philosophy, that he still wants the best for our nation, ie...good inentions, bad policy. Nothing could be further from the truth. He’s not even in control of the White House in my opinion. That is reserved for his closely held group of mentors and handlers. He merely apes the leftist group think into the teleprompter as their selected prime spokesperson the fades back to do nothing, except watch for the next implosion and wait for the next signal to spew another speech.
That theory is ok to a certain point. I believe that some liberals are made that way, and can be unmade. I also believe that many liberals are born that way(hard wired) and there is no changing them. I don’t have the time or the inclination to sort them out. They are all enemies as far as I’m concerned.
