Obama's penchant for speeches now sounding hollower by the word
Los Angeles Times ^ | 8/9/11 | Andrew Malcolm

Posted on 08/09/2011 9:08:49 AM PDT by Nachum

This is the 931st day of the Barack Obama presidency. (Snip) Being a Real Good Talker helped him get the job heading the law review. And entering politics. And succeeding early there, albeit within Chicago's rigged system. And being an RGT thrust him onto the national stage at the Democratic National Convention in 2004 when delegates had the foolish notion that John Kerry and John Edwards could win. Obama is very proud of his talking. In May this year he told a Boston fundraiser: "Back in 2004, I gave a little speech here that got some attention."

He does not know how to do anything else. He is toast, and the Democrat Party knows it.

Obozo's speeches have always sounded hollow.

The only thing which has changed is that the LA Times is finally beginning to notice as well.

What made Obama look like a good talker was the comparison to GW Bush, who couldn’t talk his way out of a wet paper sack. Never again.

He uses his tongue prettier than a twenty dollar whore.

FLOP-A-RAMA----THE SAGA OF OBAMA

He was all set to sail to reelection.

At a crucial stage in the 2007 Democratic primaries, Obama gave a barnstorming speech, ending with a promise of what his victory would produce: "A nation healed. A world repaired. An America that believes again." But the bankrupt world he created would not cooperate.

He threw trillions of stimulus at anything that moved but the sagging economy would not cooperate.

He was all set to take credit for the debt ceiling bill--but the stock market took a dive and would not cooperate.

He catered to Third World tyrants and terrorists to shore up his base--as independents ran for the hills.

We ain't seen nuttin' yet. God knows what his Marxist mind will tell him to do next.

I’m afraid that they will dump Obama at the last minute and nominate Hillary at the convention. The Democrats will be so relieved that she will be a shoe-in.

We don’t really have anyone that could beat her.

He had three days to think about it and the best he could come up with was “We are a AAA country.”?

“Being a Real Good Talker helped him get the job heading the law review.”

Bullcrap. Obama is a horrible talker. Take his teleprompter away and he goes silent or into stuttering gaftastic mode.

The only thing he does well, beside squandering astronomical sums of OPM, is play the race card. That’s how he got everything he has, except for the times he played lowball Chicago politics to stab opponents in the back. Enough with this meme that Obama talks well. He does nothing well but exploit his skin color.

Trouble is, real leadership is more than talking and calling for things. It takes a while, but over time listeners begin to notice rote rhetoric, predictable patterns, empty words. An example:

We didn’t need a rating agency to tell us that we need a balanced, long-term approach to deficit reduction. That was true last week. That was true last year. That was true the day I took office.

The day Obama took office, 931 of them ago. Subsequently, in his Monday remarks the president said this:

I intend to present my own recommendations over the coming weeks on how we should proceed.

Over the coming weeks? The need for a balanced, long-term approach was clear the day he took office $3+ trillion dollars ago and sometime soon he'll share his plans?

Obama is still saying, 'Yes, we can.' But he never explains why we haven't.

Then more solicitous empathizing:

The American people have been through so much over the last few years, dealing with the worst recession, the biggest financial crisis since the 1930s, and they’ve done it with grace. And they’re working so hard to raise their families, and all they ask is that we work just as hard, here in this town, to make their lives a little easier.

This from the guy who doesn't have a long-term deficit reduction plan 133 weeks in and just stepped from his helicopter after two days off in the Maryland mountains.

No wonder the markets plunged 200 more points as he talked.

This is about spot on as any analysis I've read of yesterday's remarks. It shows the emporer's nakedness, his rhetoric over substance. He has nothing to offer; never has for that matter. Some interesting comments after the article.

There can be no longer be a shred of doubt as to OBOWzo’s embrace of Marxism. That he is also is a veritable Mulligan Stew of psychological pathologies makes him even MORE dangerous. Even a shrink as bright at Charles Krauthammer has trouble finding enough words to adequately describe what’s going on in the guy’s head.

My take is that he is a rare form of idiot savant whose “gift” is an urge to engage in mindless and continual eloqution and public oratory. His egocentrism and narcissism — probably resulting from having been abandoned first by his father then his mother — found in ALL politicians has reached a far higher level in him than in others and requires him to be “on” and the center of attention at all times.

(Even MSNBC leftist talker Ed Shultz, fresh from a visit to the White House, reported that Obama has turned the place into a shrine to – surprise – OBAMA, with portraits of his first year – and hopefully, his LAST full year – in office EVERYWHERE! Can you say “egomaniac?”)

Couple that with the problem described by microbiologist P.B. Medawar that

“(…) the spread of secondary and latterly tertiary education has created a large population of people, often with well-developed literary and scholarly tastes, who have been educated far beyond their capacity to undertake analytical thought”
and you have a formula for the creature known as Obama.

He is as lacking in the ability to think critically as are the voters who put him in office and who now bear full responsibility for the possibly irreparable damage now being done to this country by Obama and his minions.

The bigger problem is that when the veneration by his former devotees fades and, like Hitler in his Berlin bunker, he begins to feel that they are not intelligent enough to appreciate his “brilliance,” he could become an even more dangerous and destructive creature than he is now.

I can’t help but wonder if these so-called black “flash-mobs” are the leading edge of more anti-white violence to come.

We should know soon.
