Since we are on the subject of LBJ, does anyone have info on the rumor that their is a recording in prez. archives of LBJ in a conversation on the phone with someone who was questioning him about his proposals for the great society which he made the remark that the dems would have the ni**er (his word), vote in their hip pocket for the next 150 years.

Military records indicate that Oswald was not a talented marksmanCommonly claimed, but simply not true.
The records show that he was twice rated as sharpshooter and once as marksman.
a far superior rifle (m1 garand) to that of the carcano
According to the FBI's weapons expert who tested the Carcano, it was a highly accurate weapon.
Like all mass-produced weapons, the quality of a Garand and a Carcano can vary depending on where it was made and what conditions it has undergone since manufacture.

No, just the opposite - Oswald was the one and only shooter. Any other delusional members in your family?
The Warren Commission was a joke, anyone who took it at face value would probably believe the income tax law has no agenda.

You missed the most damaging piece of legislation in the last century of US history, the Hart-Celler Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965. No law has changed the face and culture of America as much (not for the better either, IMHO) including the Civil Rights Act.

This would NOT suprise me in the least. Ike proposed almost the very same thing(Civil Rights Bill) in the late 50s but guess WHO led a US Senate Filabuster against it....LBJ(he was US Senate Majority “Leader”). Funny he got credit for it in 1965.

Do you remember the TV bubble gum advertisement from the 1950s that started off with one of these cars being driven into a lake?
One of the people near here had one of these car/boats in their driveway.

Jack Kennedy called this nation a Republic. Probably the last Democrat to do so.

Military records indicate that Oswald was not a talented marksman ...Back in the 50s/60s, there were four ratings for Marine shooters: Expert, Sharpshooter, Marksman and "Unk" (Unqualified).
Oswald qualified as a Sharpshooter and later re-qualified at the lower rating of Marksman. Meaning, maybe not an "expert", but still good enough.
Qualification is done at three distances, 200, 300 and 500 yards (not feet), including slow and rapid fire. Look down
this page for more details.

I know what my father told me. I believe him - I have never known him lie. The swearing-in was not filmed, so the only way your father could have seen the look in LBJ's eyes at his swearing-in is if he was one of the following people:
JFK's Press Secretary Mac Kilduff
Former MPAA President Jack Valenti
Congressman Al Thomas
Congressman Homer Thornberry
Congressman Jack Brooks
Bill Moyers
Secret Service Agent Roy Kellerman
Secret Service Agent Lemuel Johns
Dallas Police Chief Jesse Curry
White House photographer Cecil Stoughton.
If one of those guys is your dad, the credibility of this story improves dramatically.
To: wideawake
"Other than having been physically present, there is no way to tell what look was in LBJ's eyes, since he is blinking in the only extant photograph of the swearing-in and his eyes are not visible." The photo known as "The Wink" is interesting. LBJ isn't blinking but is looking at Congressman Albert Thomas who is winking at LBJ.

Logically in order for Oswald to be the shooter he needed to be able to make the shots. That is not a reasonable proposition.
Either you're playing devil's advocate, or you haven't got a feckin' clue what you're talking about.
Based on this and other posts, I think it's the latter.

There is a certain kind of mind that takes great comfort in conspiracy theory. The excitement of “being in the know” is addictive for many - especially when the rush can be had in the absence of the hard work of gaining actual knowledge.
