Barack Obama is offering us a Latin-American future.
Unless things change, the man (or woman) elected in 2012 will be the last American president to preside over the worlds leading economy. If things get really bad, he will find himself presiding over the early stages of American collapse. Not decline but collapse. Decline is what happens when youre Britain in the 1940s, and you cede global dominance to a major ally that shares your language, legal system, cultural inheritance, and broad geopolitical objectives. That deal isnt on offer this time round.
...
In the real world, debt ceilings are determined by the lenders, not the borrowers. In March, Pimco (which manages the worlds largest mutual fund) calculated that 70 percent of U.S. Treasury debt is being bought by the Federal Reserve.
So under the 2011 budget, every hour of every day, the United States government spends $188 million it doesnt have, $130 million of which is borrowed from itself. Theres nobody else out there.
In other words, however Congress votes, were rubbing up against the real debt ceiling the willingness of the world to continue bankrolling American debauchery.

Three things:
1) Did ya ever notice how much is NOT KNOWN or kept secret about Zer0's life and associations.
2) He came into politics through Chicago.
3) Bill Ayres et all.
Flash mobs and what happened in Madison WI are only the beginning if the dollar and our economy continue to deteriorate.
Sometimes you finish reading something and feel like the pilot has just told us to assume the crash position. God help us.
“We are broke. Defend America, not the World.”
Absolutely.

THAT STATEMENT SAYS IT ALL.....Does anyone doubt this spending has been intentional, because an S&P downgrade was intentional...how else could China get their YANG as the World Currency, until USA gets way down there. The man I saw from S&P as no doubt a Democrat, since he was against a Balanced Budget Amendment, and criticized the tea party....ALL DEMS IN CAHOOTS IMHO

I don’t know when anything has made me more furious than this.
Other way around. Why do you think Obamacare resembles Romneycare so closely?
You're right in your major claim, though. They really are "the stupid party".
I know, our little Republican voters are as clueless as their Democrat cousins.
Ken21, I think Palin is totally unelectable, a Goldwater of 2012 if she runs. She’s mostly a celebrity, not a politician.
Given the fact that there are more tax MOOCHERS dependent on a government check than there are tax PAYERS in this country, and the MOOCHERS outnumber us at the ballot box, the "change" you speak of isn't possible any longer at the ballot box.
Forget about gold as an investment, high velocity lead is what's going to be needed in the not too distant future.
Here's a word to the wise: these "flash mobs" are nothing more than "urban males" (read that: black youths, thugs and gang-bangers) practicing their craft for the 2012 elections and beyond. Y'all better get prepared to defend yourselves.
.Warren Harding figured it out in 1920...
Congress and the Executive Branch have lots to do.
So far theyre not doin it right..
Its been done before..
Harding cut the governments budget nearly in half between 1920 and 1922. The rest of Hardings approach was equally laissez-faire. Tax rates were slashed for all income groups. The national debt was reduced by one-third. The Federal Reserves activity, moreover, was hardly noticeable. As one economic historian puts it, Despite the severity of the contraction, the Fed did not move to use its powers to turn the money supply around and fight the contraction. 2 By the late summer of 1921, signs of recovery were already visible. The following year, unemployment was back down to 6.7 percent and was only 2.4 percent by 1923.
http://www.firstprinciplesjournal.com/articles.aspx?article=1319&loc=r
BTW..ole Warren ALSO fixed immigration...
Mr. Harding signed into law the Emergency Quota Act[3] which sought to control immigration following World War I and preserve the distinctive American culture by ensuring the majority of immigrants came from the historically compatible cultures of Northern Europe. This law aimed to bring wages of hard working Americans under control by limiting immigration to 3% of the 1910 census. It was followed on by a similar act in 1924, after Mr. Hardings death.[4]
A Warren Harding prescription...if filled ...would ignite the afterburners on the US job machine and the economy. However DC would have to yield on a tremendous amount of power. Our job as We the People...is to persuade them of the utlitity ..shall we say..of doing so.
Might want to point that finger in the other direction. Are you debt free? even if you are, do you vote for the same spineless pols who promise you bridges to nowhere?
I am debt free. I have to repair my own roads. We export money to the county seat, state capitol, and to the thugs in DC. I pay my own way and support several others. I do not vote for liberals. I did not support the thefts of public monies by congress and the fed. I do not support the locking up of national resources by the sierra club and government. I do not support Soros, the new world order of democrats. Don’t blame me. Are you guilt free?
Me either, and check out how the adminstration is selling taxpayer owned (fed buildings) properties to highest bids? This is horrible, check out this housing for coast guard, that is being sold, and it’s practically new:
https://propertydisposal.gsa.gov/ResourceCenter/PRHomePage/searchProperty.do?statename=NORTH CAROLINA
It’s on beach, and would make great beach rentals, for some elite democrat, and how many of these properties are being handed to Zero’s friends? We need an investigation of how many federal properties owned by taxpayer have changed hands in past three years. It’s bad enough the dems have stolen our AAA credit rating, and spent us into oblivion, but are they ripping off our best properties for private use, without us knowing it?
Check this one out:

But blaming the international banksters for America's debt problems is the same as blaming drug dealers for one's drug problem. If we want to fix our country, we have to forego consumption and invest for the long run. Bernanke is trying his hardest to get us to do the opposite, but he is mostly homegrown and our responsibility. Our collective votes for the same old politicians are a big part of the problem and that evolves from the false notion that we are a great country (not any more) and that someone else deserves blame for our self-created problems (e.g. the banksters). The politicians of both parties lie about this and Americans still lap it up.
