LOL! I was all set to play some tunes, but my Dad had a “today” errand, to we were off to the airport air cargo office to ship a couple xerox boxes full of rocks.
My Mom and Dad used to collect rocks, cut and polish them, and make jewelry. They found someone in Juneau, Alaska who is into that now. Soooo....they boxed their stuff all up and we took 2 boxes of rocks to air cargo. More stuff out of the garage, my folks are happy, and the recipient will be happy. A good day!

Sidenote: After basic training (bootcamp), all new miltary recruits attend what is known as "A" School to be trained in the disciplines of whatever specialty they are destined for. In the case of military musicians (with the exception of Air Force) this means a rigourous six months at the Armed Forces School of Music (formerly the Navy SOM) in Little Creek, VA. The course of study consists of two 3 month semesters comparible to 4 semestars at estemed music schools like Berkley in Boston and North Texas State University. At the conclusion of each rotation, the student is auditioned by a jury of school staff members on diciplines of harmony, music theory, ear training and instrumental skills including prepared instrumental solos and sight reading on both major and minor instruments, stage and concert band performance as well as minimum accademic requirements. Those who meet the requirements advance, and those who do not are dropped and soon find themselves jumping from airplanes or chipping paint hanging from the side of an aircraft carrier.
There are endless stories at S.O.M. about famous musicians who graduated (and some who didn't), but one legend eclipses them all. A young US Army recruit named Billy Cobham held for many decades the exclusive distinction of being the only student to "Advance Out" of the school on his incomming audition. This means he aced both his F1 and F2 juries the first day with scores above 3.75 (on a 4.0 scale). The legend says his final score was 3.99 with the single notation by Commander Alberto Acercion: "Nobody's Perfect".

Thank you. It’s amazing and still mind boggling to me, and that the skill can be learned and their extremities can operate correctly separately. I could never come close .. LOL.

Sidenote: Here's another Rock icon, known for his work with Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, King Cobra, Blue Murder and Beck, Bogart & Appice. He's done stints with Pink Floyd, Ted Nugent, Richie Sambora, Yngwie Malmsteen, Brian May, Rick Derringer, Mike Bloomfield, Michael Schenker, Ozzy Osbourne and Stanley Clarke to name a few. Unfortunately, he will be forever remembered as Rod Stewart's co-writer of "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" and as the older brother of drumming phenom Vinnie Appice.
