.LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) According to the federal government, two sisters in rural Kentucky do not exist.
The women weren't born in a hospital, never went to public school and only recently obtained birth certificates after they sued the state. Still, that's not enough for Raechel and Stephanie Schultz to land legitimate jobs. The sisters need Social Security numbers, so they have sued the federal government.
"No one has ever heard of anything like this before," said their attorney, Douglas Benge. "When the girls first came to see me, it's one of those things of, 'What do I do now?'"

I worked in that area in the late 60’s. I worked in Louisville, Lexington, Corbin and Harlan. What you say is true.
My buddy and I are always jokingly referring to it as Sociable Security. A guy we were dealing with one time kept saying that to us. "I'm not working anywhere. I only get my Sociable Security check". LOL!!! Funny stuff. That guy ruined us. I'll be using your term now also depending upon my mood!

“Out of 330 million Americans, there’s probably a few people who didn’t do anything” to get official documents, said Bruce, who now runs a website from Murrieta, Calif., that helps people navigate Social Security benefits..... But they can still vote.

Yes, my church has done several mission trips to West Virginia and have seen the poverty. Anyone with any smarts or talents abandons the area as soon as they can. What is left are people without hope and without a future.
Believe it or not, my Western Civ. professor in college taught me that term. He had spent several years studying Chinese History in China and he said he longed for the days he could slip someone $5 and the poster he wanted printed or the papers he need copying would be moved to the front of the line. In other words, he preferred crooked socialist bureaucrats in China to crooked semi-socialist bureaucrats in the US. At least in China they knew socialism didn’t work.

“Why would any true conservative WANT a tracking number?”
From the article: “Still, that’s not enough for Raechel and Stephanie Schultz to land legitimate jobs. The sisters need Social Security numbers... “
