Answer: They don't. They are wishing for Armageddon, with the Mahdi leading the way. Islam in Iran is a suicide cult, just like the Japanese Emperor worship during WWII.
They actually state that Gog and Magog are the good guys and will come out the winners with Jesus following their wish to make everyone muslim or kill them and themselves in the effort.

An EMP would put most of us back in the middle ages until we could get generators from china, and enough wire to rebuild our infrastructure. I really would not care what happened to people on the other side of the world. It would not do a damn thing to get my heat on in January.
