Virginia Tech Alert: Person with gun spotted on campus

BLACKSBURG, VA --

9:59 a.m.

WSLS can confirm that the campus siren system has been activated.

9:47 a.m.

Virginia Tech Alert claims person with a gun spotted near Dietrick Dining Hall.

Tech asking people on campus to stay inside, secure doors.

Police conducting search now.

WSLS's Ken Heineck is on the way to Virginia Tech now. More information as we get it.

They released a sketch of the suspect. It looks like Justin Bieber got a haircut.

I hope they didn’t close the track. I need to run after work.

Go ahead and click on the link and read it. Make a habit of it, too. It’s liberating to discuss stories that you’ve actually read.

It's also "liberating" to stand up and concede the obvious: it should always be made clear that an excerpt is an excerpt, and/or where it came from, regardless of whether the passage is included somewhere in the article. It doesn't take a whole lot of time or energy to, at the very least, include the words "From the article:". It is LAZY and inconsiderate not to do so.
