Translation from Pelosi Jibberish: “The Republicans got hosed.”
A Victory??? Really?? being sold out is not what I would call a Victory...
Well Sarah Palin says it’s a victory so all debate is now closed.
Sure, the TP changed the debate.
But the “cuts” are minimal, and the door is still open for tax hikes.
I’m certainly not declaring victory.
My...Palin endorsed 2 freshmen who voted for the increase. “not a 100% pure genuine victory”, indeed.
A victory in the sense that Custer had a victory at Little Big Horn, considering all those Indians.
It was a momentary stand to hold a line on principle, with a hint of a modest result, maybe. Certainly the weight of the Tea Party element was felt.
But, moving on from here it will mean nothing if the conversation does not advance to particulars of immense waste, fraud, taxation, corruption and pernicious regulation. Certainly the collectivists are not going to fall asleep and discontinue their agenda.
If she’s calling it a victory, I’d hate to see what a defeat looks like.
We have been bamboozled. Obama will spend every penny of that money and we will get absolutely miniscule cuts in return.
The House has to stand up firmly. They are the only arm of government who has a chance to until the elections...and they have done some great things. Sadly, IMHO< this was not one of them. They should have called the bluff and forced the issue. Some did...but not enough.
WE HAVE TO CLEAN THESE VIPERS OUT IN 2012!
I disagree.
If Peter Marshall were here he'd say, "Circle gets the square."
So much for those trying to dispute she said that last night. I withheld fire then but Sarah? I don’t want to hear the word victory come out of the lips of anyone who claims to be a conservative or Tea Party sympathizer. We won nothing.
I think she is probably just trying to spin it her way, but she is wrong on this one. No immediate or binding cuts, no making Bush tax cuts permanent, and raising the debt. Across the board loss as far as I am concerned.
She could have said, "better than hoped for," or "not perfect but ok," or "something we can live with for now."
But "victory" it isn't. Doesn't even make a dent in spending.
As a supporter I do not expect perfection from her. I reserve the right to disagree if appropriate. But I would crawl over broken glass to vote for her.
It was actually a nasty smackdown of the Tea party by the establishment. The condescending treatment from the media and the establishment, as though there was some victory for the Tea Party, is so irritating. It has that “well, lets give the dumb little hilljacks a pat on the back and make ‘em think they won, but we sure showed them”, feel to it.
There was no victory for anyone and failure for all.
Nothing was accomplished but more debt. We will all find out that nothing will be cut. This just puts off the debt fight until later.

What a load of bunk. The Bill consists of two things: a definite raise of the debt limit, and a bunch of uncertain, indefinite promises to do something. Reid is already insisting that part of that something be tax hikes. Victory my four-legged beast of burden.
Also remember the marketing aspect of politics. People are attracted to winners. And all most people know about anything are the sound-bites they hear. Saying “The Tea Party lost this big time” would not help draw people to it. People hearing a sound bite that the Tea Party was victorious while also hearing the dems moan and groan will help draw people to it. She is working this for long term benefit. Remember, she “goes rogue” and thinks outside of the box.
To: what's up; Carling
Youre an idiot RINO propagandist:
Regarding the debt limit deal, she went on to say that while it is a victory to change the debate toward talking about the debt, there is much more work to be done. She does acknowledge that the debt limit deal is a step in the right direction but she doesnt like giving what she believes may be the most liberal President in US history another 2 trillion dollars that we dont have with no major reforms.

This thread covers the same attack on Palin that you just posted.
Rush is Right.
Sarah is wrong.
So far, my decision to support principle (Bachmann) over the greatly renowned ‘executive experience’ of various Govs has proven to be a correct one.
If this ‘victory’ is what I was fighting for... then I’m turning in my tricorn hat and switching back to coffee right now!
Who the hell slipped Palin the Cammomile? Someone get her some real TEA... fast!
