Palin Calls House Debt Vote a (Qualified) Victory for Tea Party
The Wall Street Journal ^ | August 2, 2011 | Danny Yadron

Posted on 08/02/2011 9:55:56 AM PDT by EveningStar

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Monday’s House vote to lift the debt ceiling was a victory for the tea party, proving that conservative activists had shifted the conversation in Washington.

“We shall take this victory and make sure our politicians in office today are learning from this victory,” Ms. Palin said Monday night on Fox News, where she is a paid contributor. “It’s not a 100% pure genuine victory. We just handed the most liberal president, I believe, in U.S. history a $2.4 billion debt increase.”

I like to watch the cable series “A 1000 ways to die” on Spike TV. And I like the series “Coal”. But I have seen how the leftist liberals influence the production of stories on 1000 Ways to Die.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
1000 Ways to Die

1000 Ways to Die is a docufiction television series that premiered on May 14, 2008 on Spike. The program recreates unusual supposed deaths and debunked urban legends[1] and includes interviews with experts who describe the science behind each death. Up until the end of season one, the final story of each episode showed actual footage of dangerous situations that almost ended in death, along with interviews with people involved in the situations. A portion of these deaths have been nominated for or have received a Darwin Award.

About Spike TV

Spike TV is available in 99.4 million homes and is a division of MTV Networks. A unit of Viacom (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), MTV Networks is one of the world’s leading creators of programming and content across all media platforms.

This post will clear nothing up. You are dealing with abject imbeciles, of whom a good percentage are, I would wager, lower middle class/lower class hillbillies.

Your whole post is an ad hominem attack and you call others "lower middle class/lower class hillbillies". Pitiful.

And if she's the nominee, I will vote for her.

Why?

Because I’m not going to vote for a Democrat, I’m not going to vote third party, and I’m not going to “stay home.”

She's a sellout who's just in it for the fame and $$.

Why not just vote for the Democrat or stay home?

A Victory??? Really?? being sold out is not what I would call a Victory...

Well Sarah Palin says it’s a victory so all debate is now closed.

Perhaps reading the entire article would give you more information and prevent the now expected knee jerk reactions that are predicted from the Palin haters.............Here ya go, here's what wasn't posted on the thread but is available on the link:

Ms. Palin didn’t fully embrace the deal, saying she had plenty of problems with the compromise between the White House and congressional leaders, including Republican House Speaker John Boehner. In the past, the former governor said she was not convinced America would face a default if lawmakers did not raise the debt ceiling by Aug. 2

“Palin Haters”?

I’ve never hated Sarah Palin. It’s her worshipers I can’t stand. The cult of personality that surrounds her was not her doing.

"Sarah is wrong."

It more than just being wrong. There is also the matter of gross inconsistency. First, caving in and voting for the deal was an act worthy of being threatened with a primary challenge, not it is a victory "we" will take. although not a 100% victory, but a "step in the right direction".

Another problem is the imprecise wording. (I am trying to be kind here) A good part of the threads on this topic are dedicated to figuring out what she said. She was all over the place in the interview. The one thing about Bachmann is that we do not need a decoder ring to decipher what she says, or where she stands.

“Sarah then went on to explain why the content isn’t a victory and summarized by saying: Yes this is a victory because tea party patriots did shift the debate...”

“She’s not abrogating her principles and what she said was exactly correct.”

She is wrong and you are wrong to support what she said for it isn’t really true. So what if “discussion” was had???? At the end of the day nothing “substansive” that the Tea Party wanted was accomplished. Goodness, holding back tax increases didn’t even really happen. BTW - I am NOT a Tea Party member - I lean in their direction though.

Bottom line is that YOU just don’t get it about Sarah...she is OK but very falible. She just proved it. Michele Bachman, and I’m not endorsing her, actually did a better job of holding the line....and she actually could vote. I’m not seeing any praise for her, although she seems to deserve some IMO. Once again, Palinistas can’t see any flaw with Sarah, but can only see flaws in other candidates.

This is not rational behavior. Palin deserves to be seriously considered and possibly nominated, but she does not merit unquestioning worship.

“Rush and others are trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Eating our own is a recipe for disaster. “

Yeah...Rush is wrong, and Palin is right. Palin needs to stop taking her marching orders from McCain...her new neighbor in Scottsdale, AZ

The only "substantive" approach without raising the debt ceiling would be to cut spending immediately by 4 or 5 trillion, and that wasn't going to happen when the democrats control the senate and the executive branch. No way, no how. It's that simple. Everybody knew we were going to raise the debt ceiling, even the tea party caucus, because there is no other way around it right now, and anybody that tells you otherwise either doesn't know what the hell they're talking about or is living in a delusion of wishful thinking.

I'm not sure why you seem to think changing the terms of the debate is insignificant, since it's the very tactic that got Obama elected, and considering that we have the media to deal with as a hostile entity, controlling the debate is a tool that we very much need.
