Election officials probe voter 'block parties' (Wisconsin recalls)

State election authorities are questioning whether a liberal group broke the law by offering both free food and free rides to vote in a hotly contested Senate recall election.

Although no formal complaint had reached the state Government Accountability Board by Monday afternoon, a spokesman for the agency said it would not be legal to combine free food and transportation to the polls in the same event - even if, as the organization contends, people could take the food without boarding the buses.

Local law enforcement authorities are reportedly looking into the get-out-the-vote "block parties."

Five such parties were sponsored by Wisconsin Jobs Now, a coalition of community and labor groups led by the Service Employees International Union. The coalition describes itself as a nonpartisan organization, although its blog posts have been highly critical of state Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills), who is defending her seat against Rep. Sandy Pasch (D-Whitefish Bay) in the Aug. 9

So,,,, someone will get a gentle slap on the wrist, and a small fine, which the union will reimburse with an under the table cash “gift.”

Our (Wisconsin) GOP org is very weak. Sure hope everyone understands when we see some of our Senators go down due to strong out of state union ad buys. Currently working on Hoppers recall and he's really struggling. Here's how bad it is. King (the Dem) running against Hopper(GOP), only 8% of Kings money is coming from within district. Hopper doesn't have GOP money and he's getting killed by union money buy.

Also I'm starting to pick-up some real ugly stuff coming from one of the other recalls....we all need to WAKE - UP!

We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.

"Probe"??? Hell, the aforementioned "election officials" (dem/lib/prog/pops all) were AT the block parties chowin' down on free ribs from the best rib place in Milwaukee!

Probe my sorry fat a$$!

Yet again (and again....and again....and again....and again....and again) the republicans are managing to snatch defeat from the very jaws of victory.

What a cryin' shame!

Madison "block parties"?

"This is just a test drive for 2012".

Bingo, Lodi!

Chicago ward pols have been working off this same principle for almost a century.....give each of their neighborhood bums a bottle of wine or a few bucks plus a ride to the polling place on election day.

Why is Obama busting his butt to raise a billion dollars in campaign donations? Not just for media ads and travel expenses. There there has to be plenty of ready cash available to his countless "community organizers" to be forked over to the denizens of every skid row and Home Depot parking lot across the fruited plain on election day.

Remember, big city Dem votes overwhelm GOP suburban and rural votes in many, many states. For our part, we can almost count on too many perfectionist conservatives staying home.....or shooting themselves in the foot with third-party votes.

Dem strategery is perfected by decades of success, i.e., get every city voter possible to the polling places on election day be they living, dead or dead drunk.

They don't worry too much about how the middle-class folks living in the Winds of Sleepy Hollow subdivision vote.
