Kick out of Congress all those who votes yes inc Allen West(Vanity)

Posted on 08/01/2011 5:34:23 PM PDT by GreaterSwiss

The politicans voting yes lied to us. Allen West claimed to be a tea party leaning politician but lied. This was like Tarp all over. We had the house. All we needed to do was hold the line. Spending would of balanced. Now we are heading for QE3 and the depression can start as the interest increases.

It puts people on the record for the 2012 election as either being for or against a balanced budget, and if a Dem votes no, then it is ammunition against a Dem when the country is sick of spending.

I can only help people like you out so much. This, while not a victory in the war, is a nice little battle that the GOP won today.

“WHEN ARE FOLKS GOING TO LEARN THAT REPUBLICANS ONLY HAVE CONTROL OF THE HOUSE! Compromise had to be accomplished in order to get anything done. Let’s get control of the Senate and White House and really see what Republicans will get done! Those who are trashing all the Republicans need to step back and really look at the bill that passed. It does take a step in the right direction.”

You are right. A minority (the Tea Party) cannot PASS anything....they can only obstruct...which does not sit well with MOST of the public...at least for a protracted period of time.

NO ONE likes the Bill, but it may have been the best that could be accomplished. I really never thought insisting on a BBA was going to fly.

However, angry rules the day. Let us see how we all feel in several weeks.

Myself, I'm going to have a cup of tea in antique Egg Shell porcelain that's older than me, a great granny, and enjoy knowing Obama, Nanny P and the rest of them are madder than hell.

A worthy thought, to be sure.

In order to demonstrate the impact the Tea Party movement has had on this Congress, it would be illustrative to consider what would've happened had there been no Tea Party.

Surely, it would've gone something like this:

1. Congress would've raised the debt ceiling in a routine vote.

2. There would've been no consideration whatsoever of future spending cuts.

3. There would've been no conversation at all about a Balanced Budget Amendment.

So, because of the Tea Party, what happened instead?

1. The debt ceiling was raised after a knock-down, drag-out fight. And it was raised only after a series of conditions were attached.

2. A couple of trillion dollars have been excised from what amounts to "planned future spending". Yes, I know future Congresses don't have to follow and that it's not really a "spending cut", but "a reduction in the growth of spending". But that's the corrupted system of bookkeeping we're dealing with. And, in the past, no Congress has ever been forced to address the issue.

3. A Balanced Budget Amendment has been moved from the position of pipe dream to actual consideration in Congress and a vote assured. It won't pass, no. Proposed amendments rarely pass Congress when they are first considered. But the route to an eventual BBA has been set in train. And we'll find out exactly who stands in the way.

4. Importantly, the Republican Party has discovered that it has no choice but to deal with the Tea Party and our representatives. We're not gonna go along to get along. We came to Washington, not to accommodate it, but to change it. That is an important New Reality for the establishment.

Not a perfect outcome, no. But a clear step in the right direction. As they used to say, "We've come a long way, baby."

But we've still got a way to go...

Now Bob Beckel is on Hannity starting the Dem talking points against a BBA.

LOL

It’s so predictable. Yes, I think you’re ignorant.

These are the times that try men’s souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.

Sounds like you, bye!

No big loss anyway

Really? How’s that? No budget. No controls. Czars running out of control. 0 writes the checks. What could go wrong?

Really? I’ll bet you $100 he wins by 10%, and if it’s 15%, you pay me $500. If he loses, I pay you $500.

“Yes, I think you’re ignorant.”

Who cares? You’re not my hero. I prefer people that know the meaning of the words they use. You’re a RINO, anyway. Good luck with that.

I was planning to contribute to Allen West. My heck will have Tim Scott’s name on it instead.

I could have saved myself a lot of brain damage doing my own thinking.

At least you recognize there's damage - already evident to others?

I’d be surprised if Allen West doesn’t say he voted Yes because it was the only way to put the BBA on both the House and Senate floors.

Of course, the usual FR crowd is being over the top and can’t see past tonight. Maybe the GOP really is the Party of Stupid, and I’m not talking about the members of congress.

People often talk about the deficit in relation to the the GDP. I haven’t heard this mentioned. The numbers they talk about are so big, I really want to hear this. I was wondering what these deficits most of them agreed to would be in relation to the GDP in 10 years. I would imagine it would be sickening to find out, but maybe they (CBO) projected it to be significantly lower. I doubt it, tomorrow I will do my own private research. Perhaps this is what some of them voted on.

Allen West is a good man, and I would vote for him to represent me in any capacity over 95% of the politicians I have ever seen.

I don’t gamble unless it’s a sure thing. Nothing is a sure thing in US elections.

100American isn’t a Democrat. He/she is a 98er and I think 13 years on FR is enough to settle that issue. If you still have doubts, please feel free to check his/her posting history.

Cheers.
