Are you nieve or something?

No, I know the facts and you don't.

This committee is made up of elected representatives from Congress. Whatever legislation they draw up is subject to an up or down vote from the House AND the Senate. If whatever they propose fails, the automatic spending cuts outlined in the legislation that just passed tonight goes into effect. Period.

Before every major bill gets voted on, there is a vote on the rules. It is commonplace for the rules to prevent amendments - in fact I am sure it happened with the vote today as it does with many others. All this legislation does is says that whatever the committee, made up of elected congresscritters and senators comes up with, gets a straight up or down vote. That's it.

Your post is a giant breath of fresh air.

The hysterics I'm reading here tonight are so over the top it is beyond silly. This isn't even the actual budget debate.

In the Republican primaries ALL the candidates have "R's" by their names, and our job is to work for, support financially and vote for the more conservative candidate of the two.

I would add the most conservative candidate of the primary field that can actually win. Some disagree with me on that, but I think it is mostly pointless to field candidates that have zero chance of ever getting elected. There are some instances where knocking out a truly vile RINO might make it worthwhile even if we know we will lose the seat, but generally speaking go for the most conservative candidate that can win.

Not true, the Congressional Budget Office scored the bush tax cuts ended as they are due to sunset, and if anyone reinstates the Bush tax cuts, revenue for the government has to be raised for every dollar cut by any Bush reinstyated cuts.

In other words taxes will be raised to the tune of 3 Trillion dollars, the largest tax increase in the history of the United States.

Horrible. And we are now in a double dip recession , thanks to the cowards in Congress, RINOs and Lefty Dems all. They are nothing but a bunch of elitist fascists who hold our economy hostage. We should be having across the board tax cuts to jump start the economy, but No No No, we want to keep entitlements so we get the recipient vote, and kill individual enterprise. ON THE DOLE EVERYONE!

Keel hauling would be too got for the bustards who voted for this bill in both the House and the Senate.

And the money is going to run out again. Soon.

Actually, I beg to differ. There is no way Palin can run for president now IF she is the Tea Party Kingmaker. We need her to hit a whole bunch of districts in this country, likely districts she would already carry easily thus leaving her no time to seriously campaign. I would say that we need her now more than ever as that Kingmaker. Otherwise, she is simply a target. By staying out of the race, she continues to expose the sexism and hate that has soaked through the media and ruling class, and we need all of that we can get since we still really dont control the MSM.

“This wasn’t even a budget. What are you talking about? “

Really, not related at all to budgets? Pissing on our legs and telling us it is raining?

This is ALL about budgets. It isn’t a budget bill as a matter of direct appropriations, but it is all about spending. Stop trying to be so dmaned literal in a vain attempt to excuse the RINOs.

So you’re saying only conservatives were elected in 2010. I know you’re not saying that. And let’s see why some weren’t elected. Because incumbents with an “R” after their name slammed them and refused to support them. There is no doubt in my mind mcconnell (R) and boehner (R) and mccain (R) and graham (R) and the rest of the Rs were thrilled the tea party didn’t take the senate.

On another note, Dick Morris just said that obama will lose in 2012. Now I KNOW we’re screwed.

I cant believe many people here would have preferred to default than pass a deal. You would expect that sort of talk on DU where you have the occasional anarchist here and there; but HERE?! Im guessing alot of people on here didnt have much to lose, which is weird since fiscal conservatives would and should have been very worried. Oh thats right! We dont have those types anymore.

The point stands. This was not even the budget fight. That begins this fall. This was a debt ceiling increase that is typically a blank check with no spending cuts at all attached to it. This time cuts were attached to it, even if they weren't nearly enough.

The Ryan budget cuts around 6 trillion and the House passed it already. That is also the budget that reforms Medicare which was about as ballsy as it gets considering how many supposed conservatives, even here, don't want Medicare touched.

I'm sorry your just not going to get everything you want, or even most things you want, all at once (if at all) so long as Hussein is firmly planted in the White House and the Democrats control the Senate.

We had Democrats over a barrel, we had Obama’s entire 2012 election campaign on the ropes, and the Republicans were SO TERRIFIED that the media was going ton blame THEM, just like 1994, that they let them off the hook.

NO real spending cuts, likely HUGE tax increases on top of the end of the Bush Tax cuts (tax Increase), and Obamacare taxes kicking in.

HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?

Obama got the ONLY thing he gave a damn about, pushing the next debt ceiling debate past the 2012 elections. And what did we, in the drivers seat get for it? EXACTLY JACK SQUAT.

I hear what your saying, however there are lots of people out here waiting for her to run and I still think she can.

With things as bad as they are she can win it without much effort. We need a leader and there is only one that can lead us out of this current place we are in.

People will stand up and vote to save us from BHO. I still believe in the American people and they WILL save us by voting for Sarah. There is no one else that can set this wonderful contry back on its feet.

I'm sorry your just not going to get everything you want,

Yeah, we can, Republicans control the purse strings.
Problem is, they keep dancing with their "friends across the isle".
Pass common sense cuts and their is no reason to raise anything. America does not need this much government. The problem is still what it was; spending

Quit playing fucking politics with my life. Cut the god damn government and do it now.

I agree with your amendment.

If the candidate has no chance of winning, there's no reason to nominate him/her.

I can't even imagine. I have been deeply, happily married for 35 years and the thought of losing my husband is something I can't even think about.

You will be in my prayers.

(And thanks for working to get CA to go for Palin!)
