Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is reported to have accepted US President Barack Obama's plan on Monday saying he would resume peace talks based on pre-1967-lines with land swaps. The borders would change, but this would be the starting point for talks, sources said.
If true, the move is a reversal of Netanyahu's own firm position that such negotiations would be unacceptable to Israel as they could not possibly result in secure, defensible borders for the Jewish state.
It is unclear what has become of Netanyahu's other requirements for negotiations, such as PA recognition of Israel as a Jewish state, at this time.
A senior diplomatic source said that despite the agreement Israel stipulates the right to hold reservations during the talks.

Dear Mr. Netanyahu. You seem to have lost these again, so I sent you a new pair. Do not reenter talks with these people. That's been tried too many times, always with the same result. Stand firm against American pressure. I know you can, because I've just made sure that you have a pair.
Sincerely, Name
PS: I'm furious.
Those living overseas can do the same thing with two small rubber balls, so as to avoid putrefication in transit of the eggs.
Now what is the actual physical address of the PM's office? Anyone?
Knowing what we know about Bibi in the past, it’s very hard for me to believe that he capitulated.
He should spit on Barack Obama.
Apparently 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
All I see is a rumor that directly contradicts what he has asserted both here and in Israel.
Knowing that Israel no longer has an ally in the USA has got to be hard on them.
If true - a calculation that Zero is toast and he’ll (Bibi) just run out the clock? I dunno, reaching here.
"Israel Radio's Midnight newscast had a much different take on this. They reported that Netanyahu told a closed meeting that Israel is negotiating a joint position paper with the United States that will have some elements of Obama's second speech in May (the AIPAC speech where he walked back some of what he said in the first speech), but that would specifically state that Israel will not return to the '1967 borders.'
We should remember that lots of things are going on at the moment. The housing protests in Israel, the debt deal in the US, Syria, Libya, the EU debt crisis, etc, etc. Various political leaders need "good news" and are quite capapble of "leaking" some interesting news to put pressure on their counterparts.
good one
IT will not be the 1967 lines.....which is what Obama wanted.
Probably BULLSHIT trying to prop up Odumbo.
This is the sort of thing Netanuyahu did in his first term when he was elected to save the country from being dismembered. Israeli politicians are really just American Republicans (including T-Partiers, apparently). A little pressure and threats to exclude them from the Smart Set’s cocktail parties and they whimper and do as bidden after an initial show of resolve and principle.
What we know about Bibi in the past leads me to suspect that he did capitulate again.
I see it every afternoon in Hebron. Jews are restricted to 3% of the city, while Arabs have the unrestricted run of the remaining 97%. In that 3% that Bibi somehow didn’t make Judenrein, only local Arabs are permitted, and no Arab vehicles. Apartheid Israeli style. Thank you, Bibi.
To be fair, Arutz7 is also running this story:
Did Netanyahu Scuttle Peres’ Peace Move?

Perhaps this is just part of a maneuver to scuttle some new damage that our national space cadet threatened to inflict. But in the mean time, until it’s clarified, I’m boiling some eggs.
Sad to hear.
(This really worked out well, didn't it?)

Wow! obamma has resurreceted the peace talks! I nominate obamma for another Nobel Peace Prize! This guy is certainly amazing!! /s

I agree. It is untrue, misconstrued, or is simply a false promise made to an overbearing but overwhelming political enemy - a ruse de guerre.
Will Abbas get one, too, for not being able to arrange a third Intifada yet? I can hardly wait.
I do not.believe Bibi has bowed. He knows Hussein is a joke.
I’m with you on this ... Bibi is trying to run out the clock.
My honest opinion is that Bibi wouldn’t cross the street to pee on obumbles if he was on fire.
