ABC News has learned that Republicans and the White House have struck a tenative deal to raise the debt ceiling before the Aug. 2 deadline.
It's not done yet, but here is the framework of the tentative deal they have worked out, according to a source familiar with the negotiations:

LOL, what’s the funniest thing about this is it looks like the old lady from Nevada wasn’t invited or he was lying about it since he kept saying there was nothing close to a deal.
Debt ceiling increase of up to $2.8 trillion
Spending cuts of roughly $1 trillion
Vote on the Balanced Budget Amendment
Special committee to recommend cuts of $1.8 trillion (or whatever it takes to add up to the total of the debt ceiling increase)
Committee must make recommendations before Thanksgiving recess
If Congress does not approve those cuts by late December, automatic across-the-board cuts go into effect, including cuts to Defense and Medicare.
A senior White House aide pushed back against the idea that this was a done deal.
“Talks continue, but there is no deal to report,” the aide said.
At least there's a vote on a BBA but of course that will go down in flames.
And

Meh.
Also what is this 2.EIGHT trillion? That's more than...oh never mind.
I’m sure this will amount to redefining failure as success. Ugh! I’ll take anything that Republicans can beat Obama with, retain the House and take the Senate in 2012.
Looks like enough money to push the issue past the 2012 election.
I'll save myself a click and just assume the position.
BOHICA
And the Republicans get an invitation to Hussein’s birthday victory bash?
Something tells me I’m not gonna get kissed, it’s coated in sand, and dry as can be.
Sounds like Boehner and McConnell gave Obama his lifeline. With these numbers, the debt ceiling will not need to be re-addressed until after the election.
No tax increases.
Boner/republicans=epic fail
A nay vote will be an albatross around the neck of RAT candidates up for re-election next year. This is good.
2.8 TRILLION FOR A LITTLE OVER 1.5 YEARS, WHY DO WE HAVE A REPUBLICAN HOUSE AGAIN?????
SOMEONE PLEASE REMIND ME!!
i’m shocked, shocked! they said they weren’t even close...

Weve Been Played for Saps, Folks: Boehner Bill Will Become Reid Bill (Rush)
If Congress doesn’t approve the cuts they cut the military and Medicare.
How about cutting the foreign aid first, or cut the education Department or the Energy department or the EPA, or ground Air Force One.
But no, they want to screw over the Military and Medicare which is already screwed over by the new Health reform Bill.
By the way why didnt they just cut the whole friggin Health Care Bill that we don’t want and don’t need.?
I disagree. I think Obama moved. Boehner’s plan is far from the best, but Obama was losing this in the polls.
This jives with Reid leaving the White House fuming earlier. Obama is going to lay claim to the bi-partisan “moderate” dealmaker and toot his horn over the next couple weeks.
Even if BBA goes down in flames = there was an actual VOTE and it’s an issue for the next election.
1. There has to be a match $ per $ in cut and increase in the debt ceiling.
2. No tax increase. NO TAX INCREASE
3. BBA vote.
It looks like that Paul-Mack plan was included. Prime Face it looks like a pretty good deal.
