1. There has to be a match $ per $ in cut and increase in the debt ceiling.
2. No tax increase. NO TAX INCREASE
3. BBA vote.
It looks like that Paul-Mack plan was included. Prime Face it looks like a pretty good deal.
Agreed.. See my post above. Obama is the one who caved. He didn’t have to cave far because the Boehner deal was pretty light in the britches, but he’s going to be touting his dealmaking ability here and try to recover his approval rating.
DUmmies will be extremely irritated at this deal.
why is no tax increase a big deal? there was never going to be a tax increase. if Obama and the dems didn’t raise taxes in 09-10 they weren’t going to raise them now. so it’s not exactly a win to prevent something tah was never going to happen in the first place.
I think the GOP could have gotten much more. If they had just held firm through tomorrow they could have gotten far more.
there is also the pre-turkey Day automatic cuts....the defense cuts were coming in any case, and that could be Pentagon bloating for all we know....don’t like the medicare cuts only because the Dems will use this in the election, but then, the Dems own this too.
there may be more in there that hinges on NOT having it go through to 2012..can’t see it with the posts, may have to read this thing.
Yes, looks that way to me too.
Obama didn't get much at all, if anything.
Hussein didn't want the 2 part deal, didn't want cuts equal to debt hike, wanted a tax increase, didn't want a BBA vote.
He got slammed on all 4 counts.
Under this deal, if spending is greater in 2012 than it is in 2011 do you consider that to be a spending cut?
agreed on this end....some people will never be happy and though not perfect, it looks relatively favorable at this point....and as mentioned earlier in this thread, all the rats that vote against the BBA will be hanging themselves with the independents...
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to raise the debt ceiling.
Looks good to me seeing as how we only have the House. No taxes, the issue will perk up to Christmas. Bosh ER made them cave and no Tuesday crises. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
I agree with your analysis. Freepers are so used to being stabbed in the back and screwed over by the fGOP (formerly Grand Old Party) that they are reacting in knee-jerk fashion.
And I can’t blame them...
I agree with you. We don’t control the Senate OR the White House (yet :-), but we got Reid and BHO to give up quite a lot considering what they first demanded.
And when it comes to the BBA concession, they will rue the day.
