Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (Mich.), a Republican presidential candidate, called Saturday morning for Republicans and the Tea Party to stop fighting and work together to help save the country, presumably from Democratic policies, although he was not specific.
"On the right, take note," McCotter said on the House floor. "It is as unwarranted and injurious for a Republican to call a Tea Partier a hobbit as it is for a Tea Partier to call a Republican a RINO."
McCotter was referring to a comment earlier this month from Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who compared Tea Partiers to hobbits. That sparked rebukes from Tea Party sympathizers, including from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and other Tea Party favorites. The derisive term "RINO" is an acronym for "Republican in name only."
Paul was quoted in the press saying he'd rather be a hobbit than a troll because "the hobbits were heroes" in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings series.
"We cannot unite America if we divide the movement," McCotter warned. "Consequently, the time has come for the Tea party to grow up and the Republican Party to wake up and come together to serve and save this great nation."
There goes the author's credibility.

Your title is misleading imho.
McCotter is saying that RINOs need to work with the tea party. Specifically McCain needs to grow up.
More or less the opposite of your title.
Anyone NOT in that list of 22 who voted Nay does not matter much because millions of people will be doing everything they can to replace them in 2012.
The 22 Nays will be the leadership of the next Republican Congress.

I was unaware that the Juan "You have nothing to fear from an Obama presidency" McCain is or was ever part of the Tea Party.
Lets compromise, You do the right things for our country and we will support you. You don’t do the right things for our country and we will throw you out. Sounds like a fair compromise to me.
Spending more money is not the right thing to do, If you can prove it mathematically then do so, If not then stand for spending less then we bring in!

McCotter is wrong. Rino and hobbit are not similar. I don’t have a clue what a political hobbit is, but I do know what a repub in name only is....a liberal republican masquerading as a conservative.
Perhaps hobbit is an acronym, but I doubt it.
My son in the early days of Iraq would frequently refer to fobbits. (Similar to remfs for those of an earlier army.)

This? From a Congress that is $14.3 TRILLION in debt? From just about the ONLY city in the US that has a bunch of cranes and serious construction going on?

14T/155 million that pay tax is 92,000 dollars owed by each of us. Nancy wants to add $9,000 dollars to this figure.
Our kids each owe $92,000. Nancy wants them to owe $101,000.00 , Even if they have yet to complete Kindergarten they owe this!
This debt does not take into account our annual tax obligations.

Last time I checked McCotter, The Tea party is the Reason u are in the majority. I don’t recall seeing any RINO’s or Moderates carrying the water in the 2012 elections. Where were u. Were u out there like Palin working hard to get a majority? NO., u were not.
