Basically goes on to call the tea party opposition schizophrenia.. Him and Laura bash the tea party.
You mean like the long-term benefits (border fence, deportations of illegals) the Democrats promised if the Republicans voted for amnesty in 1986? Those kind of long term benefits?
You are forgetting one important thing: the 113th and 114th Congress will not be bound by the pledge of future spending cuts by the 112th Congress.
Wake up and smell the coffee.
the tea party is not a fringe.
The Tea Party view is AT LEAST 10%+ of the us population if not more.
Tea Party is representative of the dominant conservative view of teh USA at large. The MSM, NYC and even DC staffers are the mental fringe disconnected from reality.
They think they have destroyed the Tea Party idea's, to hell with them, we are all still here and voting and growing stronger with our children and grandchildren.
I have six grandchildren, 4 of whom are of voting age and they are disgusted at how their future is unfolding for them. They are Conservatives and will breed conservatives. 3 of them in college with only a SHOVEL READY JOB available for them?
I think these two are victims of the same affliction. They are not sure of the consequences in simply denying any further spending, and drawing a line in the sand. Therefore, the responsibility really scares them to death. It would be a much more comfortable position, to just go along like always. The fear of the unknown, gnaws at them more ferociously, than doing the right thing.
The dirty secret of politics is that our elected reps in Washington and in our state and local governments are actually roped in and controlled by “leaders” of their parties.
In some legislative bodies its worse than others but it is the truth of how politics works.
More likely some one made him an offer he could not refuse, though I am at a loss as to what that could have been.
The speaker has vast resources and power at his command, as the last speaker was not in the least bashful about wielding both. I tremble to think what has been brought to bear on these freshmen.
Like other freepers I have lost a lot of respect for West and Laura who disgraced herself on FOX last night.
“My plan would be CC&B, take what we can get now win the 21012 election and come back for more. But then I’m a fool and you are really the great strategic thinker. So I will await news of your great victory. “
Oh, like in 2000 and 2004? We compromised everything then too and what did we get? Larger government and huge deficits.. So who’s agenda was served by your plan again? Seriously, understand what has happened in the past before you speak.
I’ve lost a lot of respect for her.
Ingraham talks out of both sides of her mouth. Her main interest is the DC social scene and being invited to the right parties.
i trust Jim Robinson, Mark Levin, and Rush.
Thomas Sowell and Alan West, have been played for saps.

HOLD THE LINE!!
They’ll have to come back to you. DEMAND a REAL CUT in spending!! Do not under any circumstance approve a debt ceiling increase!! Instead, insist on real spending cuts NOW!! The country is bankrupt. Do not allow them to take us deeper into debt! It’s time for the HOUSE to do its job of controlling the spending!
The federal government is bankrupt due to Obama’s reckless spending. Cut up his credit cards and force him to quit spending! It’s time to put Obama and company into receivership! Make them come to the House to authorize current payments on the debts as they come due so that we don’t default. Do not authorize any spending whatsoever on discretionary items until the spending crisis is solved.
He’s on the Cain plane....boom.
Good Lord people! The left is watching us fight among ourselves and laughing.
I give West the benefit of the doubt. He knows that the Senate will not pass Boehner’s bill. They will amend the crap out of it and hand it back at the 11th hour. Then the House refuses to pass the amendments.
Obama, Reid and company will then blame the republicans for everything. West, Cantor and company will hit the air with a response along the lines of ‘hey, we submitted three bills to them and they won’t budge.’ That becomes campaign fodder for next year.
Obama will then try his 14th Amendment ploy and then the fun begins.
West is smart and I am trusting his decision on this one. Why do you think they didn’t vote last night?
Sometimes the truth does hurt.
:: I like West. He wants to beat Democrats. ::
This attitude is a problem, IMHO. What is required is to reject euro-socialism and return to a Constitutional Representative Republic that utilizes democratic ideals.
The Tea-Party freshman understand this, I think. I can’t defend West’s statement.
Yep.
And good riddance to bad garbage, as far as I'm concerned. I'm done with her.
Give me Monica Crowley any day of the week.
West is just another socialist pandering to the welfare class!
Take off his glasses and you have obama#2.
Hysteria seems to be at work! What Col West supported was a bill that would raise the ceiling just enough to get into 2012 when the debate would have to happen again but under the conditions that a BBA would be passed and sent to the states for ratification. The bill would also have cut a moderate amount of spending and slowed automatic ‘appropriations increases’. To believe Allen West was somehow compromised in his principles is to not comprehend what a man of principle Col Allen West is. This schism being amplified by such racial crap being tossed into the mix is disgusting to witness at Freerepublic.
Well, the number of sellouts appear to be rising exponentially. The fact that the Speaker actually took the political calculus of the Republicans being blamed for a default and ensuing downgrade into consideration--for shame!
But did he call us hobbits?
