I’m glad to see this. The race on the GOP side would instantly become Perry’s to lose.

The drumbeat getting louder.
Watch Labor Day weekend, especially Sept. 3, Iowa and see what that produces. It could be a Palin entrance into the candidate field or an endorsement. It will be interesting especially if Perry has already made his candidacy announcement.
The beat will become louder regardless of how it plays out.

While Texas governor Rick Perry is a relatively new name in discussions of the GOP race, he is drawing strong interest from highly attentive Republicans. Among Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters who say they have given a lot of thought to the candidates, 22% support Perry, 15% Romney, 13% Bachmann and 12% Cain.
And Perrys lead is substantial among highly attentive Tea Party supporters. Perry has the backing of 29% of Republicans and Republican-leaners who agree with the Tea Party. That is nearly double the backing for the next closest candidate, Herman Cain (16%).

Texas Governor Perry's Vaccination Mandate
Kinky Friedman lost the Texas gubernatorial election in November, 2006, but Governor Perry has implemented an executive order that sounds like a Kinky Friedman idea. It requires an immunization for some sexually transmitted diseases -- for girls entering the sixth grade. The governor has made a number of incorrect assumptions, most of which are pointed out in the articles below.
But above all, the Governor presumes that the state can usurp the authority of parents, just because the kids are enrolled in public schools.

Rick Perry and Sarah Palin are my choices..If people listen to some around here we will end up with another 4 year's of the Muslim Communist..If you don't want Perry then who cares we will keep him as Governor of Texas..And BTW if Perry is so bad then how in the heck did he get reelected three times..If you don't want him we will be glad to keep him..
Texas has the nations largest rural population, with more than 3.6 million rural residents in 2000..Now if Perry was so bad then how in the heck did he keep getting reelected..
