The further south it drifts the less of Texas gets rain and I think that those estimates are mighty optimistic.
But then again, I’m not a meteorologist and I don’t even play one on TV.
I just suspect we have a lot of wishful thinking that will only lead to disappointment.

This small tropical system must not be strong enough to move the high therefore it will track around it...this is too bad for central texas....no rain.

At least a bit of Texas ought to get some rain..
The Weather channel doen’t report widespread benefit for this storm..It’s too small.

Looks like all models have shifted more to the west since yesterday.

How reliable is the BAMS model?? I haven't found the BAMS over the years to be all that accurate.
Really like the NGPS, GFDL, AVN, GFDI, GFDT better, imho.
Really not a *tight* model consensus yet, but they all do show a drift to a more westward direction since yesterday.
Been using Mid-Atlantic for years, pretty good site.

The Weather channel doesnt report widespread benefit for this storm..Its too small. Most of Texas will get less than 1/2-inch of rain if this projection is accurate:

Yeah - that’s what I kinda vaguely remembered from past Hurricane Threads...
Can’t blame a guy for hoping, though... ;)

Hope you guys out west can at least get an inch or two out of it.
We've been getting an inch or better everyday in southeast Louisiana for the last couple of weeks, basically no drought here anymore.
Was getting kind of bad drought wise for a couple of months (grass was actually turning brown and dying in my yard).

We’re having an average rainfall right now with some thunder and lightening but it’s spotty in where it’s falling. Half the sky is rainy looking and the other half is bright blue with white clouds.

Whatever happens, TS Don is picking up the pace to get there. Latest advisory clocks forward speed to a respectable 16 mph.

She's a party animal alright! My poor husband was getting rolled around the deck of the pool like a roly-poly bug. He had a piece of cheese in his hand trying to entice her close enough to snatch her in 90 mph winds.
Meanwhile - Jim Cantore at Padre Island was saying it went into Mexico and it was over. HUH?
She's sleeping now. I don't know whether she's losing interest or is charging her batteries?

I don’t think he was saying thirty miles inland is fur enough from ANY storm, just this little troppy. Ike flattened Houston then drove all the way up past Cincinnati dealing death, destruction, and flattened crops everywhere along his path.

She’s a Springer Spaniel liver and white with a white blaze.
I don’t have a flicker account or I’d post one if someone could walk me through it.
When they evacuate the rigs - I pay attention.
