This ain't rocket science. The country is going bankrupt because of big spending, big taxing, big government Marxists, socialists, liberals, progressives, moderates and RINOS!!
We don't need a higher credit limit or higher taxes. We need to cut the damned government! Cut the spending! Cut the stifling regulations! Cut the taxes!! Cut it NOW!! Not ten years from now, not five years from now, not two years from now, CUT IT NOW!!

Perhaps Jim DeMint isn’t one of them, but he’s not exactly one of us, either.
He supports Cut, Cap and Balance, which, while much better than Boehner’s latest offering, still RAISES THE DEBT CEILING! And it also front loads the spending while putting off any real cuts till later. (Can you point to ANY time in our history where 10 year plan cuts actually materialized? I didn’t think so...)
On top of that, the Balanced Budget portion is so full of holes, even the slowest congress critter should have no problem getting around it.
Instead, we should be LOWERING the Debt Ceiling by around $500 Billion a year until the National Debt is down to a couple Trillion, and we should be repealing ObamaCare and eliminating or cutting to the bone one intrusive abusive government agency after another.
Sorry, but even Jim DeMint doesn’t seem to “Get it”.
You done said all that needs to be said about this mess and how to begin straightening it out.

Great message, especially relevant if we had a Republican Congress. But the Dimrat controlled/dominated doesn’t care diddly squat about your demands, Jim. One more liberating election is needed. Nevertheless, what you said needs to be said to help keep the pot simmering.
I would like to express my total dissatisfaction with how the Republicans in Congress are behaving during this debt "crisis". The Republicans ARE the majority in the House and therefore control the purse strings of the government. Please DO NOT CAVE INTO Obama's threats nor cowtow to the Democrat's demands for more spending and taxing and meager reductions years from now. We are wise to the tricks they are trying to pull.
Congress should tell the President that the spending spree must stop NOW! Reduce spending and do not increase borrowing power OR taxes. Unless Obama realizes that we are serious, he will take it to the limit. He enjoys playing "chicken" because he is so sure he will get things his way. He cares more about being re-elected than what is best for America. Please do not let him damage our country anymore than he already has. We sent conservative reinforcements last year, don't waste their strengths. Use the power you have to do what is right for the country not just for a few months but for good.
