Boehner was so close to doing the right thing. He seemed firm on the principles. He sounded strong. He sounded confident. He had the support of his party's base behind him. The president had a weak TV appearance. Boehner had a strong TV appearance. Everything looked like it was going great.

But I guess he decided to throw that all away.

It gives the big spenders in Washington everything they wanted — an increase in the debt limit, phony spending cuts, and a mechanism to pass tax increases.

AGAIN!!! is the kicker. When will we ever learn???

Some Freepers think we should wait and not criticize Boehner until we see what he does.

Big mistake.

Here we are, just on the verge of winning the battle, with Obama looking worse and worse every time he goes on TV, and Boehner wants to cave.

Again. He has repeatedly caved, again and again and again. That is why we cannot afford to wait and see what he does. We need to keep the pressure on and make sure they understand that we will throw the bums out if they do this again.

This is their last chance. Screw it up, and the GOP is dead.

Creates a new, 12-member Super Committee to write another “grand bargain” to reduce the deficit by at least $1.6 trillion. It does not, however, prohibit the Super Committee from writing a bill to raise taxes and destroy jobs. The bill can then be fast-tracked through the House and Senate with no amendments.

This is Boehner and Dingy Harry's way of giving political cover to the TEA Party Caucus in the House and the Commie Caucus in the Senate. By setting up a BRAC type system, in which this "super committee" determines which cuts to make (if any) and which taxes to raise in secret, its recommendations would be rushed to the floor of both houses, passed by voice vote, and then sent to Obama for his signature. No debate. No amendments. It'll be take it or leave it, and we'll all be sold down the river.

And this thing has Mitch McConnell's fingerprints all over it.

You got less than one chance, Boner, you sonofabitch, and so do we.

As far as I can tell, the GOP is about to kill itself, and take the country with it in the process.

Some people create wealth, some take wealth and some are given wealth. Eliminate any one and everything is different. There is no other solution. No, not one.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has abandoned the Cut-Cap-Balance Act and is now pushing a new plan that is nearly identical to the one proposed by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV).

I don't trust Boner. Thank you Sen. DeMint for speaking the truth. Now if you'd only dump Romney.

I like CC&B because it has teeth. I also think Boehner believes
the passage of CC&B will be blamed on Republicans in 2012 fostered by the MSM. Pass Boehners plan and we get Obama for another 4 because the MSM will make him a hero negotiator even though he did squat. I say go for CC&B and let the chips fall where they may.

I don’t see how this will get past a House vote... considering what was said earlier today by several House leaders... like 176 House Republican Members are not in favor...

The super committee does it for me. I do not care what else is or is not in the bill. A super committee is the reason to kill this and any other bill.

spending by only $1.2 trillion over the next ten years.

In fact today the official congressional analysis said the plan would produce less than $1 trillion in spending cuts over the coming decade.

Now Boehner says, "we tried to cooperate with Harry and even proposed his bill in the House, but it won't pass so we need to go back to the original bill or work out a new compromise with Senators interested in a realistic solution.

Boehner will say that since Reid couldn't deliver a realistic compromise that he's going to work with Demint to get democrat support for a realistic bill that will pass in both the House and the Senate.

This is the opportunity to break a group of democrat Senators off from the democrat leadership in the Senate. To have the Senate repeatedly vote down anything that can pass in the House is a death sentence for democrat Senators who aren't from totally leftist states. The Senate will end up accepting and passing a compromise that is almost identical to the original bill but with more cuts. That will lay the whole thing in the lap of little Barry who will have a tantrum and veto it. After that, the democrat party will dissolve into an every man for himself scramble.

JMHO

Graham will vote “no” when he knows it won’t pass anyway. I want to know how he’d vote if he was the tie-breaker.
