WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama's advisers would recommend that he veto a bill authored by House Speaker John Boehner to cut government spending and raise the debt ceiling in two stages, the White House said Tuesday. The House is expected to vote on the Republican bill on Wednesday.

Yep it gives them th winning hand.
I don't know ... Haven't seen any indication of conservative resistance to Boehner's plans.
WH to FOXNEWS: ‘Tell your viewers there’s nothing to worry about’...
Ed Henry, FOX News: “But over the weekend, Democrats were saying there’s going to be a drop if there is no action. Asian markets are going to crash on Sunday. It didn’t happen. American markets didn’t crash on Monday, hopefully they haven’t crashed — why should people believe ...”
Jay Carney, WH press secretary: “You should go on the air and tell your viewers there is nothing to worry about.”

The best thing that could happen is for the 0bamao administration to veto a budget bill.
Then we can blame them for “shutting down the government.”
It is. His great "plan" proposes to cut a whopping six billion dollars from the budget for the next fiscal year.
Needless to say, six billion dollars isn't exactly a whole lot of money when you're talking about structural deficits in the neighborhood of $1.5 trillion. Boehner's plan is a sad, pathetic joke.
“Obvious question: Are there enough votes to override his veto?”
In current form (IOW, without substantial cuts for the next year), I’m guessing no.
It is. IMO it’s a GOP ploy to Obama saying “Most of my caucus doesn’t want this, This is the best you’re going to get.”
This constant, nagging, whining criticism of the GOP, which is doing EVERYTHING it should, gets old as hell.
I’d be inclined to think that the GOP conservatives ought to protest mightily, but then go along and force Obama to veto....it’s a hard call. But would this compromise really hurt the cause?
I’m not so sure.
Wait, is that billion with a “B”??
Youre right. Total joke.
Memo to me to pay closer attention re “billions” vs. “trillions”.
Big difference between “he would veto” and “his advisers would recommend that he veto”. I take it they’re just trying to make it look more palatable to the tea party Reps.
By the way....I think we would all do well to listen to LS here (and anywhere he shows up....).
Conservative doesn’t mean that we are always against everything....
Did the Senate vote DOWN "cut cap and balance" in such a way that it cannot be brought up again? I thought I saw that they voted it down in a manner that would allow them to reintroduce it. If that is true, then my suspicion is that Reid will go to the very last minute, bring up CCB and pass it, kicking it into Zero's lap.
RE: Whats the Default Date now, August 8th?
Once more with feeling - WE WILL NOT DEFAULT. We have MORE THAN ENOUGH MONEY FROM TAX REVENUES TO PAY OFF OUR DEBTS AND FOR ALL MAJOR ENTITILEMENTS.
What we don’t have is money to fund ALL current government programs. Which means we have to cut, cap and balance ( if the debt ceiling is not raised, the government will be FORCED to do it anyway... and what’s so bad about that ?).
Obama has no plan, he does not want a plan.
Spending is $9 Trillion higher than 2008, when the debt was $5.8 Trillion, the Current $14.5 trillion is a 200% increase, but Obama wants to Spend more!!! That’s his plan! He does not care what it takes, and when all Americans are dependent on Government, and Government is flat broke, then he knows people will trade gun rights, freedom of speech, and all rights, to keep eating. Obama will use entitlements to sieze control of America! Who will complain about elections to a ruling class that might cut of their food!
You can take that to the bank.
Boner caved and it is a good thing that Obastard will veto. We don’t want a stinking increase in the debt ceiling. These (colorful metaphor) people just will not get it!
