The leader of a large group of House conservatives said Tuesday he was "confident" there weren't enough GOP lawmakers to pass a plan by Republican House Speaker John Boehner to increase the debt ceiling and reduce the deficit.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R., Ohio), who said the Boehner plan didn't cut spending enough, heads a group that includes 178 of the 240 Republican House lawmakers.

Bingo. It’s really just as simple as you portrayed it. The whole disgusting charade of budget negotiations is based on the premise that there enough brain dead voters to carry the day (as in maintain status quo) for the ruling elite.

Pubbie RINOs, some pseudoconservatives and demrats think the rest of us can go to hell.

I smell revolution in the air. I don’t know any other way to break the back of the ruling elite. If Boehner is the best the GOP can do we are in deep water on a severely leaking vessel.

I still can’t figure out why the annual deficits are FOUR times what they were just three years ago. Someone please explain to me how the deficit went from $400 Billion to $1.6 Trillion in less than three years.

In five years we become Greece. Our Debt to GDP ratio will be 120%.

Please keep in mind that Japan's debt is 225% of GDP. In fact, as of 2010 we are ranked 37th in debt to GDP ration (CIA World Factbook). Our problem is the same as everyone else's however - entitlements.

You call me stupid in a post and you don’t know why I responded to you?
Perhaps a little time away from the computer and a nice relaxing vacation will help you deal with your pent up hostility. And there is nothing wrong with seeking help, many people with anger issues can function out in public, and I know you can, too! Courage!

Now got get a bottle and take nap..

This is the second lie Boehner has been caught in. This is the second time accounting gimmicks have been found and revealed it’s not even close to the minicule savings they even go on record with.

I want House Republicans to call for new elections of the leadership right now.

The issue remains that we have to pay for the stuff we bought. The $14.5 Trillion is on stuff we already bought, and a lot of people here don’t get that. It’s bought, consumed, etc...we have to pay for it.

We should raise the debt ONE FINAL TIME to pay for what we already consumed and bought, cap everything at that new debt ceiling, force a balanced budget amendment on the states. That’s a winning formula.

That addresses future spending, it keeps us solvent with our current obligations, it prevents further run-up, and constitutionally forces a cap in the future.

Thanks for those numbers. I had a feeling the bad economy had something to do with it. However, I don’t understand the administration projecting $1 Trillion+ deficits as far as the eye can see, and then claiming they’re interested in deficit reduction. It doesn’t compute.

If the socialists get their way, we’re surely looking at a $25 Trillion debt by 2020.

Again you are not the smartest turnip in the garden. If you don’t know why my name means than grow up. You show such ignorance that it is pitiful. I say you need to go to confession ASAP. As soon as you do that than I may consider your nonsense.

Plays right into the Democrats hands. “The Republicans were willing to work on a compromise but the fringe tea party kooks and their representatives shut down the government and threw grandma in the street.”

It's time to do what's right and not worry about what lying Democrats say.

$6 billion here and $6 billion there, and we’re still not talking about real money (in Washington, DC terms)

pols should cut trillions now out of the decade’s projected spending but they would rather play more smoke-n-mirrors

There is one principle that the 'rats cannot evade: revenue bills MUST originate in the House. If the House doesn't pass it, the Senate and President are irrelevant.

This is Boehner's trump card and he knows it very well, as do everyone else in Washington.

Nobody in the MSM™ will ask the question, let alone find out the answer. Face it FedGov™ has learned how to hide data just like FedRes™ has been doing for 100 years.

We MUST cut $4 trillion to avoid a downgrade.

I have been for a smaller plan just with some cuts, though not the pitiful 6 billion bucks one.

BUT, the only plan with enough cuts is CCB.

Passing isn’t realistic, but that’s what we need to pass to avoid a downgrade.

This is insane. The Dems and the MSM will hang the economy on Republicans.

Just get what you can and let’s get this idiot out of office in 2012.

It's time to do what's right and not worry about what lying Democrats say.

Less than a trillion in cuts over 10 years is not "doing what's right". Creating a commission to recommend future cuts is not "doing what's right". Talking about how we can't cut spending because millions of baby boomers are retiring is not "doing what's right".

Boehner ain't doin' it right.

This is the problem. We need to have another election. Boot out the dems and rinos. There’s not much we can do, other than compromise. Do you think Harry Reid will pass a conservative bill and obama will sign it? I know we’re all biting at the bit to pass conservative legislation, but, really, it’s not going to happen right now.

People, look at reality. We don’t have the senate, we don’t have the Presidency. All we can do is block and compromise. It’s reality. We are not going to pass any meaningful cuts or reduction until we change the congress and president. Deal with it. Get what we can now, work to remove these idiots, and pass real cuts next time. Elect more tea party candidates.

We don’t control all three branches of gov.
