Orlando, FL, July 25, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) On this past Thursday, July 21, Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, preached at a memorial service for an aborted baby girl.
The child was intact and her body was retrieved after a late-term abortion. The memorial service, organized by Operation Save America, was held outside of City Hall in Orlando.
We are here because this baby was killed in the darkness, and we come to honor her in the bright light of day, Fr. Pavone declared in his remarks. The abortion industry wants to hide the violence done to these children, but we must be committed to expose it. Therefore we need to hold many more of these services, with tens of thousands of people looking at these children and recommitting themselves to end abortion.
During the service, the name Esther was given to the child.
Fr. Frank invited any pro-life activists who obtain the remains of aborted children to be in contact with him to arrange for a proper wake service and burial.
Its not the first time that aborted babies are afforded funerals. In 2008, Detroit Bishop John Quinn offered a funeral for 18 aborted babies whose bodies were discovered in dumpsters at the Woman Care abortuary. Later that same year, Fr. Pavone offered a funeral for three aborted babies at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament that EWTNs Mother Angelica built in Hanceville, Alabama. In 2010, Michigan Bishop Earl Boyea celebrated a funeral mass for 17 aborted children.

Legislation on the matter was passed in 2001 in the Czech Republic when President Vaclav Havel signed into law a bill regarding funeral arrangements which included a clause ensuring that the remains of aborted babies receive a proper burial. In 2010, in Michigan a bill was proposed to protect the remains of aborted babies from being simply discarded as biohazardous waste.
Catholic ping!
They hide photos of 9 -11 too.
Look at what folks are doing, murdering babies
Sometimes we must look evil in the eye
That doesn’t mean we don’t throw up at what we see.
Which is what I just did...
God bless that angel.
Many still refuse to think unborn babies are really babies
We have “courageous” leaders like Baraq Hussein Obama devoted to protecting the rights of murderers. It makes me want to puke that my fellow “Catholics” Biden, Kennedy, Kerry, Sebelius and Pelosi are numbered in this evil horde.
That photo makes me weep; I have a 3-month old daughter who I adore...these maggot Commies make me sick....
They picket and hold candlelight vigils for the illegal Mexican who rapes and murders a young girl but support the killing of innocent children.
America is going to pay dearly for the barbarianism of abortion, not to mention the gruesome, late-term killing of pre-born babies.
as you noticed I put “Catholic” in quotes.
May they all rot in eternal hell. That poor child never had the chance it deserved. It breaks my heart.
I live in Orlando , this didn’t make the local news , radio , TV or Newspaper...
As my memory has lapsed much in the past 22 years, I do remember though the actual day I first heard my second baby’s heartbeat. I was about 12 weeks along. My husband and I were invited over to the hospital at Langley Air Force Base in VA by a nurse midwife with whom we went to church, and said she thought she could find the baby’s heartbeat if we were interested; of ccourse, we were! Once there, after a good 40-45 minutes of using the fetal doppler, stethoscope, etc. (I don’t remember all the details), she said “I found it!” She gave the scope to my husband who heard David’s heartbeat and he started crying, right there. Then, I heard it! I too started crying...it sounded very faint and very far away...but there was no mistaking - our baby’s heart was beating, we heard it, and he was only about 11-12 weeks along. I’ll never forget it as long as I live. Now, he’s 6’3” and almost 22. How truly blessed we have been!
I can take you right now to 5 cemeteries that have little tiny graves of babies that were stillborn. One of those cemeteries is in the middle of nowhere and reflects 19th century deaths.
Some people used to think of babies and children differently.
speechless...and sad
For many the Catholic Church is a cultural tradition handed down from generation to generation. It does not have anything to do with its teachings or the faith. It is going through the motions as the social thing to do without the benefits of the Holy Spirit.
One thing the Catholic Church should change is when Baptism is performed. Baptism should occur as the result of a person’s commitment to Christ; not some formality performed on a baby. This type of ritualized behavior sets the stage for the idea that if you engage in the ritual, you will be given the blessing even if you have no idea what the ritual means. This does not encourage spiritual growth and certainly does not give Catholics, so detached from the faith, a moral conviction about homosexuality and abortion.
And may God bless Fr. Pavone for all that he does.
RIP.
