I'm sure we've ALL run in to people who's eyes just gloss over when you try to explain America's debt problem to them.
I discovered this simple analogy over the weekend, and it seems to sink in to even the dimmest bulbs...
"You are on a bus going 70 MPH, with a stuck accelerator, heading for a concrete wall that is just 75 feet away.
You knew THREE MILES AGO, when the bus was only going 30 miles an hour, that the wall was there, and if you had applied the brakes THEN, no passengers on the bus would be harmed.
But no, you have waited until the last minute, and if you hit the brakes NOW, people are going to get hurt. If you wait even longer, you will have to hit the brakes even HARDER to stop the bus, but more passengers are going to get hurt, when they are thrown out of their seats.
But if you don't hit the brakes SOON, you won't be able to stop the bus, and everyone on the bus will be KILLED..."
IS THIS SIMPLE ENOUGH FOR A LIBERAL TO UNDERSTAND?

You won't be moving wall one without filing a complete environmental impact statement first.
You're also going to have to fund a study to determine whether the wall at its present location is historically significant in some way; as well as finding out whether anything of historical disgnificance has ever occurred at the proposed new location for the wall.

Are the people on the bus white, or people of color?
What is there sexual preference?
Are they rich or poor?
What about Obama’s stash?

Liberals don’t want to listen to all that. They need very short statements, like “Hope and Change”, and “Bush’s Fault”. Anything beyond three or four words and they start getting confused.
It’s better to say that if your household is near bankruptsy does it make sense to cut back or to borrow more money? Don’t allow them any other choice just the cut back or borrow.
Just get the government to move the wall.

The bus will have ejection seats/wparachutes for the big rich democrats in the Congress, Obama and others, it is the Middle class passengers who will have to ride it out to the wall.
It isn’t going to be an easy ride either, those who got on the bus for free hopefully are right up front.
