Not sure whether the headline from Harry Reid's statement below is "Talks Break Down -- Again" or "Democrats Agree To Nearly $3 Trillion In Cuts With No Revenue Increases":

The RATS are drowning. Begging for help from the ‘cavemen’ Republican leadership. Pubs, please do not throw them a lifeline!

"In an effort to reach a bipartisan compromise, we are putting together a $2.7 trillion deficit reduction package that meets Republicans' two major criteria: it will include enough spending cuts to meet or exceed the amount of a debt ceiling raise through the end of 2012, and it will not include revenues.

Sounds like this is a cave by the dimocrats if this is true.

Link says the “Reid Plan” is the Pelosi plan? WTH? GOP, drop this sh*t like it’s...sh*t. Peloser will come back to haunt you by saying “give me back the house, it was my plan that saved us...blah, blah, blah...”

Don’t fall for it Mr. Speaker. No dice. Out year cuts.. ‘course i know Mr. Cantor will tell you that.

Get CCB up and running. We need that amendment. The Dems will die before letting a balanced budget amendment thru...

Kurtz's final analysis states "This is basically the plan Nancy Pelosi outlined Friday."
That about sez it all.

"Sounds like this is a cave by the dimocrats if this is true."

Yep, and it might be a start as long as it isn't built on some B.S. idea of the cuts coming over the next ten years.

Taxes set up over a time period like this ALWAYS are enacted. Cuts over the same time span...not so much.

Sounds like this is a cave by the dimocrats if this is true.

It's a cave to the extent that they'll want Boehner's word that this is what he will pass. Reid knows he can't hold his majority in a vote for CCB ... so he wants Boehner to accept this.

Hold the line Mr. Speaker - out year cuts do not exist. Hence the debt max should only rise by the amount of THIS year's cuts.

If they’re trying to avoid a downgrade, Standard & Poor’s has already stated they need to see $4 Trillion, nothing less. An not $4Trillion cut “in the out years”, but now, and demonstrably. So when the Democrats put it in a bill, that can be examined and debated, then we can know it’s more than a PR campaign.

By the way, doesn’t it seem plausible that the whole reason Democrats no longer put anything down on paper is because of Fox News, Talk Radio, Social Networks and the engaged Tea Party mean that the exposing of what they say vs. what they write down is easier to expose?

My guess is, a huge proportion of the cuts will be from defense.

I want the Reid plan in writing. Its existence alone - assuming any spending cuts - will infuriate the Left.

The RATS are in a lose-lose. If the Senate passes a legitimate deal, they enrage the Left. If the Senate passes a sham plan, then the credit rating will be downgraded, and the adverse economic consequences will follow.

This is why Obama went ballistic on Friday. His bluff was called, and people saw an empty suit; and Boehner walked away from a bad deal.

Anybody ventured over to DU?

I am beginning to think that Bill Clinton deliberately gave BO bad advice as retribution. Remember, Clinton would not mind remaining the only post WWII Dem president who won a second term.

They can't allow for that to happen.

Not once have the dimocrats held to their bargain to cut spending at a later date, not once!

The Repub's should know by now, it goes all the way back to Reagan if not further that they have lied about the "future" cuts.

Harry knows the “cuts” will never take place. There is no budget to cut from. The only way to stop additional spending is to not increase the debt ceiling.

The Pelosi rule: we’ll have to pass it before you can find out what’s in it.

One can NEVER expect the dimocrats to do what is in the best interests of our sovereign nation.
