NRSC donates to Hatch despite pleas from Tea Party activists (NRSC backs multiple RINOs)

The National Republican Senatorial Committee gave $43,100 to Utah Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch’s campaign, despite recent pleas from Tea Party activists that the organization wait until a Republican nominee is selected before supporting a candidate.

New filings show that the NRSC also contributed the same amount to Indiana Sen. Dick Lugar, who is also facing a GOP primary challenge. That candidate, Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock, also enjoys the support of Tea Party activists.

A spokesman for the NRSC said its standard practice for the organization to give money to incumbent senators.

“The NRSC would not exist were it not for the support and fundraising efforts of all of our Republican Senators, and we assist every incumbent who is facing a competitive or potentially competitive race,” said spokesman Brian Walsh.

So, the old rich senators give a bunch of money to the NRSC, so they can get the young poor senators in their debt?

Of course the NRSC will give money to Orrin Hatch! He’s the sitting Senior Senator from Utah!

That's stupid. The NRSC shouldn't play in primaries.

If a sitting Senator is ass enough to lose a primary he bloody well deserves it, and the NRSC shouldn't waste money on him.

Just like with them supporting Crist in Florida...Rubio won handily thank God.

I would not donate a cent to that entrenchment mechanism. Probably will support Snowe too

That’s what the NRSC is for; to re-elect Republican Senatorial incumbents. If you don’t want your money going for that, don’t send them any. Find a primary candidate, and send your money directly to support that person.

Ever wonder why a sitting Senator has a 90+% chance for reelection? House members are lower but still over 70%.

To get a Senator out of office, they have to be dead, decide to quit or are picked to join the Cabinet. The latter was the only way we got rid of Bite Me and Hitlery.

VERY tough to vote them out. That’s why we need term limits.

Exactly. And that's why I don't contribute to them.

But, of course. I can’t get upset by this cause the NRSC is a RINO enclave. I would have assumed all real conservatives would have stopped giving to them 15 years ago.

Why give to the NRSC when you can give directly to the candidate of your choice and not have your money watered down on useless RINO’s.

Drown in Kool-Aid much?

The NRSC is intented to elect as many Republican Senators as possible, whether they are incumbents or not. Only a pathetic dupe would believe otherwise.

And obviously I don't give them money -- I only care about electing Republicans if they are likely to advance the country in a conservative direction.
