It’s "[crap]" (unnamed Conrgressman: Boehner is getting nervous)

A House Republican who is in leadership called me tonight. He said what we are hearing about — the two tier plan — is “sh*t” and he’s blaming Boehner. He agrees that Boehner is getting nervous and wants a deal.

But this two tier plan seems to be the Republicans’ initial offer. Harry Reid is headed that way. Many Democrats want more.

So keep in mind for purposes of negotiations, House Republican leadership members are already referring to the starting point as “sh*t” and it will only get worse from here.

One of the ways they’ll claim they are cutting $1 trillion is by pretending the Iraq and Afghan wars no longer exist. They’ll also do another deficit commission.

There have been 17 such deficit commissions in the past 30 years. The net result? Taxes have gone up with just about each one and spending has never actually been reduced. We’ve gone from $1 trillion in national debt to $14 trillion.

Also, the GOP leadership seems to want another debt ceiling vote before the election. This would be political suicide for the GOP. They’d vote to increase the debt ceiling and Barack Obama would get a definite PR win by looking bipartisan right before an election.

I think the congressman is right. This is sh*t.

So far all is rumor. When I see this on Drudge it might carry a little more weight.

Research complete and everything I’ve read says Boehner isn’t going to cave on tax hikes and he’s walked out on BO twice and said he’s done working with the WH and will work with the Senate only.

I don’t like unnamed sources regardless of what media that sites them.

Yes—THEN I’ll start calling him names. But I don’t jump when the media of any sort says something is secretly happening.

The fix was in from the very beginning.

Aww-w-w. Will you just look at all the collegiality in that photo? There's nothing in the world that a good round of golf can't cure.

So, you don’t think using this gimmick instead of actually putting policy in place to reduce spending is caving??

“Counting that $1+ trillion towards claimed deficit reduction would be taking credit for policies already in effect and would therefore be a gimmick,” the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget said in a June report warning of possible budget games in deficit talks. “

There are plenty of people who love to drive wedges between Republicans, especially when we are more united.

This is no different and I believe nothing until I hear it directly.

When you open up Foxnews and see Pelosi at the table, it does lower ones confidence in any deal. We all know Republicans hold the house, but it was going to take another election cycle to purge the RINO’s, but holding the House should mean controlling the spending.

Cantor, Demint and Boehner all follow Red State on Twitter. Paul Ryan follows just one person.

RedState is reliable. Do a little research

Erik gets a little carried away at times. I listen to his weekday evening show on WSB Radio.

You should can the attitude and actually read before you reply.

I'll repeat for you: I'll react when I know it's happened. So far, this is an unnammed congressman.

So relax.

And Minnesota Republicans let Gov Dayton have a $500 million dollar Stimulus to ‘create jobs’ in the form of a bonding bill. And just how good did Keynesian economics do nationally?

Carried away..as when he first heard of the PontiusPilate Act and wanted to burn Mcconnell in effigy. Yes.

But I firmly believe this story.

Do you know that the two people that broke and continue to break the Gunwalker scandal post on the Examiner and a Blogspot. I can’t even post news that no one else has here in the news category because it is on a blogspot. Days later it will show up in some media source. Although, LA Times is starting to hit this story.

Mainstream media is not always the first to get the inside tips.. How many ATF agents are contacting Mike and Dave instead of Fox News and the MSM??? Considerable

An April 2011 analysis by the Joint Committee on Taxation, Congress’s tax-estimating panel, said about 51 percent of U.S. households owed no income tax in 2009.

If a tax code is rewritten to include these folks I’m all for it.

If we put the estimated 15M+ unemployed back to work that would raise revenues.

Closing loopholes in poorly written tax codes can raise revenue, although there’s no gaurantee any new language woulod be better.

Difference of opinion here but you can raise revenue without rasing taxes.

Until there is a “deal”, whatever it is, speculation is just that, speculation.

Boner already offered a trillion in tax increases. How is that not caving?
