BERLIN — The bones of Rudolf Hess, Adolf Hitler’s deputy, have been exhumed and disposed of because his grave in the small Bavarian town of Wunsiedel had become a pilgrimage site for neo-Nazis, the town’s mayor said in an interview on Thursday.
Karl-Willi Beck, 56, who has been mayor of Wunsiedel since 2002, said the cemetery administrators removed Hess’s remains and his gravestone early Wednesday.
“It was the right thing to do,” Mr. Beck said.
He added that the bones would be cremated and scattered over a lake, but he gave no other details.

Wasn’t Hess a rather low level functionary? I remember reading somewhere he parachuted into England against orders from his Nut Boss to try and arrange an armistice and was arrested.

Did anyone catch the excellent series on The History Channel last night The Third Reich. Lots of color home movies taken by Nazi drones during the Third Reich’s reign of terror over Germany and the world 1933 to 1945. Reminds me of alot of Obama supporters today, lots of suspension of reality and worship of a man just like today. Wife and I sat transfixed for 2 hours, scary you could substitute Hitler for Obama and close your eyes and it would be just as relevant. Hitler only got 1/3 of the vote in 1933 but he parlayed that through thuggery like the Kenyan into a Dictatorship. 1/3 of our populace is ready to sell their soul to Satan and have Obama be a Dictator, including the death camps,public executions,no free press. Denying history has always worked so well. They could have made his grave a public toilet or dumpster to provide a just remembrance and insure that Hess and his kind belong in the ash bin of history.

Hess ultimately rose to be third in command behind Herman Goering.
