What a thrilling ride it has been!
I’ll be watching on HDNET!!
It still don’t make any sense to me.
Why retire the Shuttle before it’s replacement is ready?
I didn’t get here for the first one, but I’ve been here testing Shuttle downlink telemetry systems since STS8. I was sure hoping to still be here to test the new Vehicle’s telemetry, but how long is that going to be?
Heartbreaking.
I had the privileged of seeing the Destiny Lab module of the ISS before it was launched.
And I saw a Beautiful night launch of Atlantis.
I have been following the Space program since 1961.
It is sadly ironic that someone supposedly born in that year (God Knows WHERE) is bringing all to an end. (sigh)
It’s so discouraging at times, while the rest of the world blasts ahead Obama stops anything worth investing in here. I truly do hate this man...and those supporting him.
Crew Prepares for Final Shuttle Landing Wed, 20 Jul 2011 07:41:03 PM MDT
Space shuttle Atlantis wakeup song for landing day was God Bless America by Kate Smith, played at 9:29 p.m. EDT, for the entire crew and all the men and women who have worked for the shuttle program over the years. Commander Chris Ferguson, Pilot Doug Hurley and Mission Specialists Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim will begin deorbit preparations a little before 1 a.m. EDT for their planned landing at 5:56 a.m. at NASAs Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Misty eyes here...
Have some friends that will be losing their jobs tomorrow morning.
I’m a NYer, but I was in Orlando with my Godchildren when the last, ill-fated Columbia mission launched. Even from 60 miles away, watching a shuttle launch, and the fire in the sky, was an amazing sight that brought tears to my eyes; it made me so proud to be an American.
And now, given our current President and the deadly path he has put us on, I am seriously considering Canadian citizenship. Alberta is looking pretty good right now.
Godspeed, NASA. You did amazing things and don’t deserve your current fate.
One Giant Step!
Tomorrow morning Obama makes NASA give America
The One's Last Step!
It will come when the fourth and final astronaut touches earth after exiting Atlantis. As of that point the Soviets will have won the space race. Maybe the DC chapter can position a motion detector near Arlington's eternal flame because JFK will be spinning in his grave. And Obama will be flashing his Carter II grin. Another MIssion Accomplished for the Manchurian Marxist.
What a breathtaking image!
When posted, the actual wake-up call and music will appear here:

Now NASA can start it’s new important Obama ordained mission:
National Assistance for Sharia Administration.
First landing opportunity at Kennedy, Orbit 200
Deorbit burn at 4:49 AM Eastern
Touchdown at 5:56 AM Eastern
Second landing opportunity at Kennedy
Deorbit burn at 6:25 AM Eastern
Touchdown at 7:32 AM Eastern
That’s one small step for Islam one giant leap for Jihad.
Hey! We can still go up with the Chinese or Russians.
So I guess it’s OK.
42 years ago NOW a JFK inspired NASA took us from
One Small Step
to
One Giant Leap!
In just a few hours an Obama shackled NASA will take us from
The One's Last Step
to
The One's Trash Heap!
Obama's LSM will claim the end doesn't fall on the anniversary of Neil's step and as American's remember things he'll get by with it. BUT his anti-American cheering sections around the world will claim that the END does fall on the anniversary. And if they count time by UTC, as already does the Wiki on Apollo 11, they'd have both fall on July 21st under UTC.
A coincidence? I think not! Although those at FR know that neither UTC nor Eastern time are appropriate for this. Both should be listed under Central Time, that of Houston's Mission Control!
Landing it at 1 am. The middle of the night.
Shame on 0bama. Shame.
