Jul 20, 2011 Will the Texas governor elbow his way into the crowded presidential race? Longtime Perry watcher Evan Smith of the Texas Tribune talks about why he thinks Perry will run and what kind of candidate he'd be.
[snip]
We spoke with the Texas Tribune's Evan Smith about the man he has followed since the early 1990s. A former editor of Texas Monthly magazine, Smith says he's convinced Perry will make a run at the White House, and tells us why other Republican hopefuls should be worried.

Boy, the Left sure likes CFR-Rick! Are you concerned he has been to Bilderberg meetings, too?
To: All
To: Virginia Ridgerunner
Actually no, but enough voters will believe that that it makes no more sense for Perry to run that for Jeb Bush to run.
Both have “The Stench” on them.

He knows what it takes to create jobs. David Barton and John Hagee support him. He will win.

Smith: There's a hole in the Republican primary field you could drive a truck through right now. There's nobody in that field who specifically appeals to evangelicals. Even Bachmann is problematic as a candidate because her electability is in question. Evangelicals are looking for a candidate. Southerners are looking for a candidate. The Tea Party, the basis for so much of the momentum for the Republican over the last couple of years, doesn't really have one. If Perry enters this race, he does so knowing that there are an awful lot of important folks within the Republican primary base who don't feel like they have a candidate right now, and he checks a lot of those boxes.....
Smith may have a good read about the above. So far no one else has jumped into the fray to fill the voids he mentions so timing by Perry may once again be in his favor.

..... if Palin does not run but Perry does, he'd probably suck all the air out of the race. Either way, ..... Perry would all be excellent alternatives to Obama the commie. Anyone but RINO Romney the big government chief architect of CommieCare!

So does Sarah Palin.
MAY 31, 2011 .... Palin plugs Perry: "I really like him" .... Unprompted, Sarah Palin brought up Rick Perry's name yesterday as a strong presidential candidate. "I think he would be a fine candidate.... we have a lot in common. I really like him.
Governor Sarah Palin's Endorsement of Governor Rick Perry
"That's why I am supporting Governor Rick Perry for re-election. He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular. He walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks to his guns and you know how I feel about guns!" ...... Sarah Palin, January 17, 2009
Let's let them choose our nominee again!
So JimRob and Sarah Palin are now part of the Left? Is your tin-foil hat screwed on too tightly?

The Gov of Texas has no power and does not create jobs. The real power is in the Lt Gov's position and state leg.

Perry himself went to California and got many many companies to come to Texas. The Lt Gov is a stupid dem who could care less. Get real

And Perry is way to much like Bush. Looks like him ,talks like him and panders to the bible like him. If I was Obama , a Perry nomination would good news to me. People do not want a 2nd Obama term but they will not change horses in mid stream if they think they are getting a 3rd Bush term.

Much of what I’m reading is the same (pro and con), so this exchange with Smith and Halloran was interesting.
To: Polybius
I was unaware that I had to like the same exact candidates as Jim Robinson.
I apologize for not towing your line.
I will obey you from now on, because you are a bully who threatens to tell Mommy if I don't.

It may have been posted somewhere or even reported but I’ve never seen mention of how Perry gets along with the Kochs.
I would imagine they are on the same page but do you happen to know more?
Thanks.

You made me smile!
Love the picture.
To: RED SOUTH
You need to study up , look at how the Texas government is set up. The Gov of Texas is a paid chair warmer and cheerleader. The Lt Gov and leaders of the leg and cabinet secretaries run Texas.
