GOP presidential hopeful and Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann today released the following statement to respond to reports that she experiences incapacitating migraines:
Like nearly 30 million other Americans, I experience migraines that are easily controlled with medication. I am a wife, a mother, a lawyer who worked her way through law school, a former state senator who achieved the repeal of a harmful piece of education policy in Minnesota, and a congresswoman who has worked tirelessly fighting against the expansion of government and wasteful spending.
Since entering the campaign, I have maintained a full schedule between my duties as a congresswoman and as a presidential candidate traveling across the nation to meet with voters in the key, early primary and caucus states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. I have prescription medication that I take whenever symptoms arise and they keep the migraines under control. Let me be abundantly clear my ability to function effectively has never been impeded by migraines and will not affect my ability to serve as Commander in Chief.

The right answer would have been, “Of course I experience migraines. My job forces me to deal with democrats on a daily basis!”
Mine quit when I went through menopause. They could be horrid!
Have you ever looked into whether allergies are the cause? I ended up in the ER and an IV drip that made morphine look like candy it barely put it behind an edge.I could feel the meds go through the back of my neck and get laughed at then found out it was a tooth and another time when the MOLD pollen count was SEVERE.
Another one of those MSM ‘Jesus Can’t Swim’ moments.
This year I started eating fresh ham and roast beef and haven’t had a head-ache since, it would be moronic to hold it against anyone who was other-wise functioning normally.
Uh, you forgot the /sarc tag after your post.
However, if you are seriously serious that medically controlled headaches which MIGHT affect her ability to function as President of the United States is a "game changer" then I hope you'll be just as discriminating about EVERY other person on the ballot - including the current one. What ELSE meets the disqualifying tag???
Yes, if any other candidate has a debilitating condition that can & does incapacitate them for hours or days, I would say they are disqualified, too. The current One was disqualified from the beginning.
Surely you must realize the enormous load the next President will bear, especially a conservative one. We cannot afford a President with a debilitating medical condition that is triggered by stress, fatigue, & hunger.
I am sincere when I say I agree with MOST of what Bachmann says. I don't believe I agree with any candidate (or near candidate) on EVERYTHING they say. That doesn't mean I wouldn't support them if they were fit for the job.
AGAIN, if this is true, & it may very well be a false smear, but if true, Bachmann is medically unfit to be President. Just my opinion.
If a doctor releases a statement how then would you feel? All POTUS’ must be cleared as medically fit.I don’t think the media should call this when they can’t even report on Obama’s missing passport/college/medical records.
Dang!!! What would Bachmann be like if she didn’t have migraines...The woman never stops...
I think you mean hemorrhoids not migraines..
Anyone these days who doesn’t get an occasional migraine is either too stupid to know how bad things are, or is somehow benefiting from the chaos.
I am undecided who I will support in the Pub primary, but frankly, Bachmann seems too inexperienced to me. I'd prefer an experienced, “verbal bulldog” running against Obama, which I don't see in the current or “near” candidates, including Bachmann.
My fantasy candidate combines the brutal mouth & wit of Christie with Palin values & a disciplined military background. I'd pay good money to see a replay of the “There you go again” beat-down that Reagan gave Carter. Christie's mouth & wit would reduce Obama to melted jello in any debate.
Hey. Life is a bitch and then you die. She is hard core. I love her and we don’t give a crap about her head aches. It is the obama ass aches that tear me up.
Funny how they missed that coke going up the kings nose... and the weed.
John Kennedy received Back injections for his Debilitating Back Pain,Bill Clinton got Mysterious Injections that one of his Physicians was Fired by Hillary for Inquiring as to what he was Injecting, Obama does Not make his Medical Records public, the Democrats Big hero FDR was Crippled ,More Hits on Republicans but never on Democrats .
Have you heard all the Developments on Gunrunner,Fast and Furious,Operation Castaway,The Public school Cheating Scandal in Atlanta where all Black teachers and Principals in 44 of the 56 schools have been Cheating on their Students test scores for YEARS? This is all Pathetic
“Until Palin steps into the game and stops being just a commentator, would you mind not bashing a GOP candidate who actually wasn’t afraid to declare her candidacy?”
First of all, the odds are very slim that Palin won’t announce. She’s simply being very smart about her timing.
Second, it is not “bashing” to evaluate a Presidential candidate’s health. If there is a serious medical condition that will at times incapacitate said candidate, that is a deal breaker.
Bachmann was always a long shot, but her migraine problem has most likely put the Presidency beyond her reach.
Palin ‘12!!!
I have a MALE friend who gets severe migraines. He has plenty of warnings and goes straight for his medications. It has not impeded him from holding down a very hard job. This is a non-started for stupid libs who are afraid of strong, conservative women.
