A group of American Muslims rallied at the Peace Arch border crossing Sunday to protest perceived mistreatment and racial profiling by government employees. The demonstration was organized by Jeff Siddiqui, a Washington State realtor and member of the American Muslims of Puget Sound, who says fear of Muslims remains even a decade after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Muslims are routinely threatened, harassed and humiliated by border agents, Siddiqui says, and sometimes detained for hours. Siddiqui says cases of apparent discrimination fail to spur outrage in the U.S., citing the lack of response to a May 2011 incident in which two Muslim scholars were pulled from a plane in Tennessee after a pilot refused to fly them. The violation of Muslim-Americans' rights goes unchecked, he claims, because it is supported by high-ranking U.S. politicians. Siddiqui says other elected officials simply do nothing to intervene. U.S. Customs and Border Protection does not comment on individual complaints, but anyone who has an issue with their treatment at the border can report it to the customs website. The rally is scheduled to end at 4 p.m. at the Peace Arch State Park.

Moslem scholars...an oxymoron like "liberal wisdom"
Get used to it Mr. Siddiqui. Keeping pressing Americans hot buttons about your rights, and you’ll all be back on planes to the homeland. Peacefully, we hope.
incident in which two Muslim scholars were pulled from a plane
Was it in flight? If not, quit complaining.
Hey Siddiqui, instead of whining like a victim, understand the reason behind it. Otherwise I don’t have much sympathy for you and your ilk.
Siddiqui is a slick and slimy POS who manages to serve two masters: liberalism and mohammedanism. He has (slightly) more polish than the average muzzie when it comes to debate and has enjoyed a certain success at flummoxing his opponents.
That make it all the more satisfying when you beat him in a debate ;-)
Here is the challenge and if he follow through, he changes his credibility. How about him swearing the Pledge of Allegiance as it stands without equivocation. Ask any “true believer” to do it then I’d say he has a point if they do. If you won’t swear allegiance to THIS country I think funds can be found to send him to the country of his choice.
I suggest he go sell real estate in the Sahara desert.
More protest from the Religion of Peach.
All we are saying is give Peach a chance.
Being from BC, I learned my lesson to avoid the Peace Arch and head to the Truck crossing a couple of miles away when I did go to WA state. It’s the most cramped road to the border and God knows you are in for 2 hours sitting in your car when you head there on an American holiday. Before 9/11, you could just see people walking across the border and both sides ask you a few questions, and you pass. Nowadays, they treat you like a criminal automatically.
Maybe that's because deadly Moslem terror attacks are a daily occurrence throughout the world, including some high-profile, high casualty Moslem terror attacks right here in the States.
And I wouldn't exactly call it fear.
At the very least, mistrust and perhaps even revulsion. Fear is a second or third order reaction to these barbaric, genocidal savages.
I would be surprised if this protest had more than 50 people there. They were organizing it with a ride sharing program, no buses. The other thing that will quell the “masses” is it is raining today and the state just instituted parking fees in the state parks.
Yes. Or as Obama would put it, Visualize Whirled Peas.
Maybe because the terrorist attacks BY MUSLIMS continue without any outcry from the so-called American Muslims. Stop being or supporting terrorists and we'll stop treating you like terrorists.
It’s raining in Blaine? Typical P NW weather. I’m sure a lot of people saw it because my family told me the price of gas in BC is more ridiculous than in America, and with the Cdn exchange rate in canada’s favor, I’m sure it will be more than gas and eggs.
Islam is incompatible with the constitution.
This is the first time I have seen “wising up to” referred to as “fear”.
