If Texas Gov. Rick Perry runs for president, he'd bring along strong conservative credentials.
He's advocated laws that require a sonogram before an abortion and that force police to enforce federal immigration law.

So, you don't know what you're talking about and you insulted my parents and their parents!
BTW, my parents switched parties in 1956, after my dad went to hear Ronald Reagan.
We have seen Ronald Reagan return and he is wearing a dress. Michael is fickle.
Seems my conservative roots were stronger than yours...be they Democrat or Republican.
Wow, I hope you are getting paid for this effort, else you give a whole new meaning to zealotry.
Did Perry support John McCain? Thought so, but we don’t complain about that do we?
As far as Palin’s past, there is no point hashing it over again and again. Her record is quite below average and her accomplishments are greatly exxagerated. Yet she is given godlike status here for some reason.
As far as what Palin should have done, she should have job as Governor after the election, dropped McCain like the plague and stood on her own. It would have also helped her if she would have supported Hayworth. After all, he was the “Tea Party” candidate and it angered countless Conservatives that she went out of her way to support McCain and called him a “great Conservative and a Tea Party Patriot”.
That was the moment that I realized who and what Palin truly was. And since then, she has proven my image of her even further.

conservative as they come - not. Perry order without hears the biggest land grab of private land for a toll road to be run and profited by a spanish company. He doubled the size of the Texas budget in 8 years from 45 billion to 92 billion. Unlike RR when he had problems with the State Gov Mansion Pery moved into a luxury $10,000 per month (that is right 10,000 per MONTH) home Ronald R. moved into a simple ranch home in Sacremanto. Perry has been handing out state money to private TECH companies like it was his money - those are not conservative actions. He is all hat and no cattle.
I don't know. From your comment, I will presume that he did. Did Perry campaign for McCain in 1) the presidential bid; and/or 2) his last run for the senate?
Rational Though addressing Psycho Freep.
Something doesn’t compute.
I used to be a democrat...voted for Jimmy Carter.
I even used to support the early Al Gore. Remember how he and Tipper were all about warning and rating labels on movies and music. Remember how he talked a good evangelical game when it depended on the voters of Tennessee? Al Gore was the quintessential democrat evangelical.
But then he went national with Bill Clinton and needed national democrat money and votes. Suddenly we had a tree-hugging, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, global warmist, big government liberal. Lots of conservatives will deny it, but they were duped at one time by Al Gore. I remember it.
The TTC was a vital part of this plan, it will come up again. Trucks and trains would be able to load in Mexico and travel uninspected to Kansas City, which would have been the Port of Entry.
We have lost our collective minds, if we fail to believe that powerful people are hard at work to bring about A New World Order, as Papa Bush proposed.
So, why don't the Bushies like Perry? They are Romney people. You can take Bushies out of New England but you can't take New England out of Bushies.
You insult your own parents with that rant. There was never a more conservative family than mine, in their personal life, but they voted Marxist, unwittingly. Remember all the blue Dog Democrats that were going to save us from ObamaCare? In the end they voted Marxist.
You and your conservative family that voted Marxist beats anything I have EVER read on FR.
You and your family really are a hoot! Your family's gene pool seems to be rather shallow.
It's understandable that you wouldn't understand that the Democrats I knew growing up were conservative...because yours voted for Marxists. ROFLMAO!
I think his district with counties...Jefferson, Galveston and Brazoria...will go back into dem hands
It will make for an interesting race for sure. To some extent the district will follow the lines pre to the 2004 redistricting which included Galveston, etc. but I don’t think Bazoria was included back then.
As a side note Jefferson County on Nov. 3, 2010 broke through the democrat control and elected two Republican county wide positions. This is a first to say the least. They were Tim Funchess as the new Jefferson County Treasurer and Shane Howard will wear the hat of Tax Assessor Collector. So with a strong candidate maybe a Republican can be elected.
Where is Ted Poe in this mix? Didn’t he rep Jefferson Co.?
Yes he does but his district will be more in the NW Houston area after redistricting. Poe’s Houston area votes controlled the current district something like 60/40. And there wasn’t any similar needs between the two areas.
Click the following and expand it to see the new districts assuming the plan meets with the AG approval as required by the VRA.
