While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wowed crowds and made international headlines as they toured Canada and made a quick stop in the U.S. earlier this month, sources say Prince Charles is not happy with the coverage.
The Sunday Mirror reports Charles is worried the media reports of his son and daughter-in-law, Will and Kate, will overshadow good work being done by other royals, such as himself.
Sources close to the 62-year-old heir to the throne said he was happy the royal couple was welcomed in Canada, but he was concerned about the coverage of their stops.
One source said Charles is now looking at a makeover to attract more fans.
Royal author Phil Dampier told the newspaper Charles likely feels "sidelined" by his son.
He said as soon as William got married, "People would be less interested in what (Charles) has to say on issues such as the environment and architecture if, on the same day, Kate is wearing a new dress."
The paper also reported there are concerns by government officials the young couple could also overshadow the Queen's Diamond Jubilee next year.
Worth repeating.

That should do for starters.
I thought she was wearing panty hose, of course she should have had on a slip
He was supposedly jealous of the attention Diana received too.
On a trip early in their marriage he made some comment about Diana being the one everyone wanted to see and it was reported that he was upset because she was so popular.
Just another man child, thinking the world ought to be focused on him.
Being overshadowed by your mother, first wife , son and daughter in law is no way to go through life Chuck.
Well there you go, Chuckie! Wear a new dress out in public and you'll get all the attention you want. Borrow Lady Ga Ga's meat dress and you'll become popular with the K-9 population, as well!
Hey, it’s some unsourced, unsupported story on some unknown website, said story designed to bring eyes to said website. It absolutely has to be true.
“It must be true, they say eet.”
He has a history of this behavior. Remember when he’d get jealous of Diana getting all the attention when they would do the walk and hand shakes along the roadsides. Here’s hoping for Liz to live a long and healthy life so the crown may one day be passed to Will and not upChuck.
He is in fact very educated and intelligent, and his mission against hideous modern architecture is extremely important.
Thx.
The FReeper comments on this thread illustrate how successful the media propaganda has been over the past 50 years. During WWII Churchill provided strength and the Monarchy provided stability to the British populace.
The media has no reverence for history, tradition or etiquette. The ‘Uncouth mob of making stuff up’!!!
That “bum” was photoshopped. And very poorly at that. She has a long torso but that bum was placed so low it was at mid thigh.
He’s very educated, briiliant and well read. Has conferred with some of the great minds of our time. A shame he ever married that idiot media whore Diana.
Let’s hope Catherine didn’t model herself on a publicity-obsessed, tantrum throwing bulemic with the IQ of a hamster.
It was most likely the Chuck and his mommy who caused Diana’s depression. Diana marrying into the Royals was the best thing to have happened to England in decades. Sadly, marrying into the Royals was the worst thing to have happened to Diana.
I quite agree. Charles is one to talk about the kind of attention brought to the Royal Family, what with his shenanigans. Charles would be an embarrassment to most families.
It doesn’t work that way. The queen doesn’t get to pick her successor. Inheritance follows the law of primogeniture.
This is BS.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, Gov'nuh, but isn't Charlie worried that he might overshadow the good works of other royals?"
