Jane Fonda said that a cable shopping channel cancelled her scheduled appearance to promote a new book at the behest of angry phone callers threatening a boycott. The Academy Award-winning actress was due to appear on QVC today to promote her new book about aging, "Prime Time."
In a blog posted today on her website, Fonda wrote that QVC received a lot of calls Friday criticizing her for her opposition to the Vietnam War, and threatening to boycott the show if she were allowed to appear.
"I am, to say the least, deeply disappointed that QVC caved to this kind of insane pressure by some well-funded and organized political extremist groups," Fonda wrote, "and that they did it without talking to me first.

I actually have some respect for QVC now..QVC has always been an Obama supporting network. I remember when Obama got elected they were selling these coins and plates of his and I was SO disgusted..but now, after this, I have a slight respect for QVC now
I’m just impressed that a threatened boycott actually worked for a change.
Typically, conservatives threaten to boycott, but then figure everyone else will hold up, but it’s okay if they don’t.
Kind of like those boycotts of Disney for their “gay days.” Everyone figures, “Well, my kid really wants to go to Disneyworld, so it’s okay if we go this year, one family won’t matter, everyone else is boycotting.” And then everybody thinks that way, and nothing happens.

I had no idea she was scheduled to be on QVC - I didn’t participate in the calling but I can damn sure contact them to THANK THEM for not allowing that traitor to appear on their programming!

I’m not normally a hater, but I genuinely hate this woman with a passion. In a sane world, in another time, she would have been tried for treason, convicted and hung. Instead she got to grow old while living a wealthy, privileged life. Thousands of Americans she helped kill in Vietnam never had the chance to live at all. I spit on the bitch. Would use an even stronger gutter word for female if this wasn’t a family forum. I have never spent a penny on any of her movies or watched any on TV.
