As the Beltway politicians try to figure out how they will raise the debt ceiling and for how long, most voters oppose including tax hikes in the deal.

Just 34% think a tax hike should be included in any legislation to raise the debt ceiling...55% disagree and say it should not.

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of Democrats want a tax hike...82% of Republicans do not. Among [Independents], 35% favor a tax hike and 51% are opposed.

Government revenue has imploded under nObama due to the crushing impact of his policies on business.

For 2011 the deficit is 258% higher than the deficit in 2008, and the deficit ALONE is larger than BOTH CORPORATE AND INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX COLLECTED IN 2008 !!! IS THAT INSANE OR WHAT ?

I saw where Obama got his 80% figure from, I believe it was a Gallop poll that asked if you believed that the deficit should be handled entirely with spending cuts, no “increases of revenue” at all and about 20% of respondents said yes to that. Then the next answer was almost entirely with spending cuts but with some new revenue, next evenly split between the two, then mostly with tax increases and finally with no cuts and all tax increases.

Obama took all the rest that didn’t answer with no taxes and bunched them together to get his “80% of Americans favor raising taxes” quote he used.
