Wife and I joined approximately 150+- conservatives in the 7:00 showing of The Undefeated at the AMC Theatres in Orange, CA at The Block.
Movie was well received by all in attendance with many, many ovations culminating with a standing ovation and even some in tears because of the positive American message that was presented.
The movie was simply awesome!
It provided much more background on Sarah's executive experience with a strong emphasis on her limited government approach to government in general.
It covered her come from behind elections for both her campaigns for Mayor and Governor, as well as, her time on the Oil and Gas Commission of Alaska.
The movie also makes a great case as to why the GOP establishment fears her.
And finally, the movie really shows why those of us who have supported her really respect, for her sincerity. This came shining through.
An added bonus was Andrew Brietbart and Mark Levin simply excoriating the GOP Elite and leadership, particularly Brietbart calls them for what they are Eunuchs.
If anyone, with even an ounce of sincerity and a conservative bent can come out of this movie without either an enhanced positive opinion of her or a changed opinion from negative to positive, then that person is probably not sincerely a conservative.
Those of you who are naysayers of Palin or her supporters, do yourself a favor and go see the movie with an open mind, it will change you.
Those of you who think this movie will do nothing to further Governor Palin's popularity or acceptance by the mainstream, will probably change your opinion if you are brave enough and objective enough to go see the movie.
There was an Afterburner, organized by Organized4Palin, at the El Torito in the Mall parking lot. 40+ people showed up, including Tammy Bruce. Apparently there were similiar Afterburners after earlier showings as well.
The movie will play both Saturday and Sunday at this theatre and then I believe they are going to try and extend the run based on theatre attendance, which by the way, on a per-screen basis was only second to Harry Potter.
Rondog, EveningStar, and several other Freepers(whose names I have forgotten given my poor memory) were in attendance at the Movie and the Afterburner.
Thank you for your respectful review. So the film may have won your wife over? I do not know your wifes view prior, but you say she left with a new respect for Palin, so I will leave it there unless you want to elaborate.
Thanks
How do you mean “the showing was a setup to try and sabotage the film.”.
I’m so happy to read this report.
I had read that the theater was EMPTY!
Guess those people need to get their glasses’ prescription changed; or maybe they had an “agenda” - and most liberals do.
Thanks for that Info RonDog - I’m sending it to everyone I know.
Not only is Tammy Bruce openly Lesbian, she is also pro-abortion. SHE IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE!!I understand your concern. It was inappropriate to have her in this film and possibly damaging to Sarah Palin. I am fairly certain that Sarah would not approve of it.
And as Abigail2 points out, there were people at the after-party who did appear to be gay and positions of promoting the event.
What is going on here?
Christian Conservatives are not going to be accepting of this sort of thing, nor should they be.
And, in a PERFECT world, I would prefer to work with people who COMPLETELY share ALL of the same values as I do.I look forward to "Conservative Christians" stepping up to the plate, and making a campaign tool as powerful as "The Undefeated."But, as Donald Rumsfeldt said, "You go to war with the Army that you have."
Let me know as soon as they do, and I'll start promoting THEIR MOVIE.Similarly, I look forward to "Conservative Christians" stepping up to the plate, and "Organizing for Palin" even TEN PERCENT as aggressively as the folks who helped me co-ordinate last night's EXTRAORDINARY event.
It would be MY PLEASURE to promote THEIR actions as well.Seriously, PLEASE help me connect some good solid STRAIGHT conservatives who support Governor Palin...
...and I will do my best to also promote what THEY do, too!Until then, please consider President Reagan's "80/20 rule" -- or I might have to start quoting "TR." ;)
“For MORE about this kind of (understandable) online confusion, see: FReeper names”
Wow! That link led to some very disturbing fever-swamps of leftist insanity.
I would like to criticise one thing though.I also understand YOUR concerns, too, abagail2.Something which needs to be discussed.
The narrator of the film was Tammy Bruce. She was also the guest at the after party.
She is not only gay but pro choice and I don't understand why Sarah would allow her to represent her in the film or lead the movement to promote the film.
Also, the people who gave the party were very obviously gay. I don't know if Sarah would approve them being in charge.
Maybe Rondog can explain it to me.
I will let Governor Palin speak for hersself, when she chooses to address this issue, but for now...
...if you're going to dump TAMMY BRUCE, you might as well kick ANDREW BREITBART to the curb.I would prefer not to re-visit that whole "homosexual agenda" fight that we had when Ann spoke at HomoCon...As I understand it, Andrew is straight, but he's on the Board of Directors of the gay group that got ANN COULTER in hot water, GOProud.
...except to remind you of President Reagan's quote that an "80% friend" is not a "20%" enemy."My current political philosophy is to SUPPORT people on our side, where we AGREE...
...and then work on CONVERTING them to my way of thinking, where we DISAGREE.
The film didn’t win her over completely. She just gained new respect for Palin.
We both knew that it was never intended to be an objective documentary. It was intended to rebut her critics and rally her supporters.
And once that is realized, one can appreciate the film for what it is.
+1000
...the musical score was loud and intrusive...THANK YOU for braving the "slings and arrows" of this important discussion, EveningStar....It was like watching a David Lean film.
Any moment I expected Lawrence of Arabia to ride over the horizon on a camel.
And, FWIW, I plan to keep working on "converting" YOU. ;)As far as the muscial score, I think that you identified what I **liked** about it!
This wonderful movie **is** like an EPIC WESTERN -- and the "soaring" musical score helps to transport you there!Good and evil, battling it out in the "Last Frontier" that is ALASKA...
...with Governor Palin as JOHN WAYNE!Is "John Wayne" on your "Palin metaphor" list yet? ;)
Would you rather have a group of conservative gays endorsing conservatism, or a group of crazy-ass liberal gays protesting the film?
:o)
A musical score can be quite effective in highlighting the dramatic points of a movie but it doesn't have to be wall to wall to achieve that. :)
See post 77.
According to rumors on C4P....AMC theaters will show this in 1000 screens nationwide IF each of the ten intitial theaters can clear 1200 paying customers for the first week.
I’ll probably have to order the DVD since I live in the Northwest and so far there’s no indication the movie will come here - but maybe that will change, hopefully. But - I went to SarahPAC yesterday and noticed that they won’t release the DVDs until after the movie has had it run in theaters.
For the moment I’m just going to keep my fingers crossed that the movie shows up here.
Thanks for that info .. I suspected as much.
Liberals never tell the truth!!
