The much awaited figures for Michele Bachmann’s fundraising in the second quarter of the fiscal year reported today did nothing to burnish her image as the up and coming Republican. Her total of $2 million raised in the last three months plus two million more shifted from her congressional campaign account illustrated that for all of the progress her candidacy has made in the last several weeks, she seems to lack the infrastructure and staff work that more established hopefuls have already put into place. The high expectations her poll figures have produced means pulling in only $2 million has to be considered something of a disappointment.
Bachmann’s excuses for this showing will center on the fact that at the start of the quarter she barely had a campaign, let alone the sort of organization that would allow her to rake in the big bucks. Her Internet fundraising operation, key to a grass roots populist candidacy such as hers, so far lacks the sophistication and promotional efforts needed for her to harness the energy of enthusiastic Tea Party and conservative Christian backers.
If she can manage to put together a better online effort in the coming months, then she may be able to start raising the big bucks from a broad base of small contributors that could help put the nomination within reach. But if she fails to do so, this shortfall will put a brake on both her momentum and her ability to compete with the cash-rich Mitt Romney.
Having lifted herself from the second tier to leading alternative to the frontrunner in just a few weeks, Bachmann no longer has the ability to fly below the radar. The congresswoman’s fast start has set high expectations that require her to do more than just skate by. If Bachmann’s performance in the Iowa straw poll in August or the next fundraising report again falls short of what we believe a first-tier candidate must do, her hopes will suffer.

1.) At every opportunity, you Palin worshipers trot out a picture of Palin showing off her legs every chance you get. If you want her taken seriously, stop trying to make a pin-up girl out of her.
2). Every time someone post something less than obsessively complimentary about Palin, guys like you accuse them of PDS. It's like they insulted your wife or girlfriend. You guys act like Palin is your would be "dream" girlfriend and you cannot contain your fury when your "girl" is "insulted"; even though she seldom is insulted.
3.) Juvenile name-calling is the stock-in-trade of Palin worshipers. There are many candidates in the race, and probably more to come (hopefully Palin herself). You Palin worshipers trash everyone who is not Palin, even though Palin is not an official candidate yet.
4.)Your post in this thread is way over the top. Instead of defending your Palin worship, you attack me. Par for the course for PASers like yourself.

If you have any legitimate problem with Palin/Palin supporters, discuss it like an adult, not like without acting like a 12 year old schoolgirl in a popularity clique and 99% of us afflicted with “PAS” will have an adult discussion with you. Start/continue the typical PDS nonsense you and the crew display on EVERY SINGLE FREAKING THREAD THAT HAS HER NAME IN IT and expect many of us to respond likewise. Shouldn’t be too much of a shock.

Is it the fault of the posters that SP is photographed in such a way? Should she undergo amputation? Or is it simply that you are personally jealous of her appearance?

And lastly Sans, It ain’t even a close call. In a contest between my wife and Palin, I would take my wife in 10 out of 10 tries at bat. You just struck out again. Guess the “Calendar Girl” will just have to ‘settle’ for that Todd guy she’s married to, even though he’s no Norm Lenhart. But I am not a heartless man. I feel her pain. I will console her with my political support and my vote. ;)
You just cannot seem to grasp that this is not some kind of sexual fantasy thing. Palin supporters share her beliefs and goals. We believe in her because she believes in herself.
Sorry to burst your bubble but it really is that simple.
This is why I think she is like a would-be wife/girlfriend/fantasy object for many of you. Your knee-jerk defenses of her are too over the top for just a politician or candidate. You really do act as if someone insulted your wife or girlfriend.
The other thing I find tiresome about you PASers is that many of you constantly post "it's Sarah or nobody". I do hope we get the best candidate, and that it is not Romney in any case. It may be Sarah Palin who gets the nod. Or it may not.

We believe in Palin because we share her views and believe in her/her vision for America. Why that is a problem for you I’ll never know. Why you feel the need to make moronic comments about her is even more the mystery.
