Last night, President Obama and Eric Cantor exchanged harsh words over the debt ceiling, and on the Senate floor just now, Harry Reid uncorked a harsh attack on Cantor that suggests Dems are embarking on a new strategy: Isolating Cantor as the new public face of GOP intransigence.

Backroom meeting should be held at all. We have a deliberative body mandated by the Constitution to work out compromises in the open for all to see, it’s called Congress.
Cantor should bring a camera crew in with him and hold a press conference right after Obama’s 10 a.m. lecture.
I think you have some other group in mind ~ really.
Sent Cantor an email yesterday (since I’m one of his constituents, it might be a little more meaningful) thanking him for standing up to Obama and encouraging him to stand firm. When a Congressman delivers, they need the same volume of thanks as they would get in hate mail if they had folded...
Draw your own conclusion.
AND they’re making him the face of the Tea Party!
Two birds with one stone.
And the liberal Republicans breathe a sigh of relief and get back to spending madly with their friend Reid...
“Cantor should bring a camera crew in with him.”
Or at least a microphone. The Republicans should simply state that they want ALL negotiations to be in public view. They will get the upper hand politically and they will make Obama’s habit of promising something in private and then contradicting it in public much more difficult to pull off.
...and if Obama isn’t game, then we wait, and wait, and wait...
Yup, see Post 16.
Me too, I was having doubts about Cantor. I hope this does backfire on them.
Yep, they couldnt use Boehner in that way so they picked Cantor for the Newt role as the symbol of unreasonable-ness to use on voters.
Boehner and McConnnell NEVER should have been given those leader positions in 2009. They were Bush/Paulson’s TARP henchmen in 2008 tasked with rounding up votes for it. That was enough to dirty them as cave-ers under pressure.
In the end winning is what counts, not tough talk and ending up caving under pressure, as they have already signaled surrender as the backup plan, If Obama caves Cantor will be a hero, but if they lose he needs to go too.
but as with Ryan, the GOP will cower like little girls and not stand up or by Cantor...
With Cantor’s appearance, voice and demeanor it’s going to be very difficult to demonize him as he doesn’t fit the bill.
Democrats are employing a losing, fruitless strategy.
BTTT!
Hussein hates Jews, I think that is clear.

Agreed. The bigotry that writhes like a worm in the “light worker’s” heart is what made him explode. He probably could have kept it together but for the Jew in the way.
God bless ‘dem Joooooooz’!*
*I really mean it too!
“When a Congressman delivers, they need the same volume of thanks as they would get in hate mail if they had folded...”
So, so true.
Though the likes of the Gobbler, Boner, McNut, Grahmnesty etc ARE cowards, in this instance they WILL stand up.......and assist the Rats and the media in destroying Ryan and Cantor because those two are a threat to their incestuous club.
