Obviously, Sarah Palin can't possibly run for president in 2012.
She's waited too long. Her ballyhooed 'One Nation' bus tour has virtually vanished. Have you noticed any lines to see the movie about her, "The Undefeated"? And that admiring film got panned by some people you never heard of.
Palin's not built any discernible grassroots organizations in early voting places like Iowa and New Hampshire, as traditional candidates do. And it looks like she's not going to pour a couple of million dollars into the meaningless Ames Straw Poll that will be so important for a week or so next month.
Quitting her elected job barely halfway through the first term turned Palin into a national nobody. She's missed a couple of Republican debates already.
Another tea party favorite Michele Bachmann has surged to the front in the first caucus state's early polls. The national media's gaffe detector is on full power for Bachmann and Palin, both mothers of five. And anyway, a large number of American voters say they wouldn't vote for Palin if she was a former governor with one national campaign under her belt.
But there's a couple of little-noticed problems with any facile dismissal of Palin's possible 2012 candidacy: Media derision only feeds those who don't like her already.
It actually strengthens Palin with a wide swath of overlooked Americans who don't trust mainstream institutions but do identify with the mother of five.
Why do you think Palin keeps shooting back at the media and even starting fights when things get quiet? Any media attention is better than none. Ask Rick Santorum.
Also, American voters don't matter for beans right now. American Republican voters do.....

The country is filled with people who are more than happy to define who Sarah Palin is and what she is going to do.
Ah-so, thanks.
Um, I’m not sure about that one.
I suspect we would be in nearly the same situation with McCain as President. Only it would on the onus of the Republican Party rather than the Democratic Party.
Ya he used so much heavy sarcasm that it went over many heads. I thought he was saying basically that the race is Sarah`s to lose... Whatever...Sarah Palin or Bust
There is a perfect storm brewing, it’s strong, it’s big, it’s on it’s way..... and her name is Sarah Palin.
I believe she’s not only going to run, she is going to win. Everything she does says she is running and everything about her says she’s going to win.
“The national (LSM) media’s gaffe detector is on full power for Bachmann and Palin”
But the LSM gaffe meter is in full cover up mode or turned off when it comes to Obama and crazy uncle Joe Biden up in the attic.
What is most frustrating and drives the LSM pundits PDS berserk, is Palin does not play by their rules.
One can tell who Obama, the dem left, and LSM fear the most, it is by who they viciously attack 24/7, one Sarah Palin. If she stands no chance, can never win under any circumstances, is a brain dead snowbilly dunce, why are they so fearful of her.
When it comes to Palin, the usual suspects are not just whistling past the graveyard, they are running in circles, screaming and shouting the sky is falling.
This guy thinks his review can manufacture opinion against Gov Palin...NOT
She is waiting....learning....guarding the "cubs"....staying mostly quiet with an occasional "roar".....reconning the enemies from within and without.....studying challenger's weaknesses....practicing....endlessly practicing....reading...recognizing and building on strengths....finding vulnerabilities in the enemy....
Patience.....patience....
Wait for it!
And keep the faith....
Actually the smart strategy now is to keep your powder dry and get in as late as possible so as to reduce the ability of the MSM to tear you down. So Sarah is reacting to you, Mr. Elitist Schmuck.
Subtle irony is a bit hard for me to grasp at times, as it generally takes full fledged sarcasm to get my attention.
But after reading full article twice, I have surmised it is not Palin he is putting down, but is tweaking all of her detractors.
“Patience..”
A strange word for me, because I have never had it and I don’t like it. LOL
“Faith” I have. ;>)
Me, I voted for McCain for one reason only, Palin was on the ticket. I detest McCain more than most, but I swallowed the bitter pill and voted for him anyway.
FWIW Dept.
Happened to be a the mall Tuesday and stopped to say hello to a friend who was talking to a middle-aged man I never saw before. The subject swerved into the shape the Nation is in and as I turned to walk away I said, “I’m just waiting for Sarah Palin to announce.” I had no idea how the stranger would respond, and was braced for the worst. He said, “Oh my God I love Sarah Palin. I hope she runs!”
Made my day!
Of course he is. We've known this all along. The left is just now waking up.
Exactly my point. Perry is a politician first and foremost. Campaigns as a conservative, and governs as a moderate.
Andrew Malcom and the LA Times will look silly by fall.
