Yes, LOL, I think I do. My Garmin’s Brit English female is named Serena and I certainly can understand your description of “blackboards mating”. So very apt. My default American English chick is Samantha who seems to have a perpetual mad-on.

But the guys in the study could easily hear and understand other men’s voices as speech because that uses a simpler brain mechanism at the back of the brain.

Simpler? My butt muscles. More efficient, not simpler.

Another factor is that as we get older, we lose some hearing in the higher frequency ranges that are needed to hear parts of the female voice (2,000 to 4,000 Hz). It isn't so much that we don't want to listen, but that we can't hear the sounds of certain letters and letters combinations from female voices as well.

(Some sounds of letters & combos: g, h, p, m, v, f, g, ng, t, ch, sh, s)

Actually that should have been IF she gets to the point...happens maybe 10% of the time.

LOL - “get out in that kitchen, and rattle those pots and pans”, you say?

I can’t cook worth a shit, but I have a good enough income to take you out somwhere really nice. Maybe I’ll buy you a little something shiny, too. :-*

Oh, but wait. I’m as old as dirt. ;-)

Fishing lures work, they're nice and shiny! I could use a new baitcaster while you're at it...

It would never work between us though, I already have one wife and I'm not a mormon glutton for punishment. I'll take the shiny things though! ;)

Also just noticed that you’re from Raleigh, NC. My mom’s side of the family is from Sparta, NC and over in Thurman, NC. Absolutely beautiful country down there, been there several times.

I'm calling BS on this. I think “Andrea Uku” is really a guy whose wife gets upset with him when she catches him not listening or saying, “you never told me that” when in fact, she did. Actually, Andrea Uku could be my husband.

You are too funny! Yes NC is beautiful, but here in the flatlands “Triangle” most of the trees have been bulldozed now and replaced w/mcmansions and asphalt. God’s work is still evident just a couple of hours away in either direction, though. :-)

Be nice to that wife, you have to go to sleep sometime. :-P

INDEED.

I know that feeling and experience.

At which point . . . since the woman is engaging in

PSEUDO-CONVERSATION

I figure it’s quite kosher

to engage in

PSEUDO-LISTENING.

On a related note:

His and Her Diary

HER DIARY

Tonight I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment.

Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed but he kept quiet and absent. I asked him what was wrong; he said nothing. I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry.

On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving.

I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say I love you too. When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there and watched T.V.

He seemed distant and absent.

Finally, I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed, and to my surprise he responded to my caress and we made love, but I still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.....................

My life is a disaster.

HIS DIARY

Today the Packers lost, but at least I got laid.

I read an interesting theory about why male and female speech patterns are different. We evolved as hunters and gatherers. The men were the hunters and the women gatherers. The men had to be quieter to avoid scaring away animals while hunting, so they evolved to speak less. The women were gatherers and kept the children. It was good for women to talk a lot, because lots of talk is how the children picked up language, and knew where the mothers were. So the women evolved to talk more than the men.

I don't know if this theory is true or not, but it seems possible.

"When the Doc came out to the waiting room he walked straight to my wife and told her that I was not ignoring her but I could not hear in the decibel range that she and most females spoke in. He handed her the sheaf of results and walked out. Its been much easier to live with ever since!"

How much did you have to tip him to do that?

It's true...I DO like a voice coupled with a filled out T-shirt (preferrably wet)...

God made me this way. God made THEM that way, and put hormones into the mix.

Just another example of the perfection of creation!

Now leave Sarah out of this...she’s a hottie, has brains, and is a Gun Girl.

She’s ALMOST the “Perfect Woman”. Hahah!
